Last Post of 2009
Dec. 31st, 2009 03:20 pm2009 was a horrible year for me so I'm holding the door open and tapping my foot. Bye already. Get the hell out!
Anyway, what better way than to end the year with a bunch of rambling comments and observations.
( New Year's Eve )
( Slight Ramble on the last original CSI episode, Better Off Dead )
And finally,

Happy Birthday!
Sep. 9th, 2009 09:54 pmToday is the birthday of one of the best Brass icon makers ever,
inamberclad
How cool that your birthday is 09/09/09. I hope you played the lottery!

What a great day!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!11!!11
Sep. 10th, 2008 12:08 amIt's September 10th here on the East Coast but in the great state of Texas, it's still September 9th. Why does this matter? Because on this day kind of a few years ago,
inamberclad was born! Boo-yah!
Oh, and here's to hoping Ike stays far away from you.

Just stuff
May. 23rd, 2008 10:29 pmWow, seems like it's been ages since I posted.
First, a little birthday biz to attend to. Um, just pretend I'm in the central time zone, where it's still May 23rd.
Hope your day was fabulous!
( This is the part where I ramble on about PS3 and my various obsessions, most of them being TV shows )
And just because I'm in love with his right thigh, not to mention his hand on the back of his head.
( Let's not even talk about the jeans, the boots and the Harley jacket )

More Birthday Wishes
Sep. 12th, 2007 11:22 pmYesterday was my good friend Nancy's birthday and stupid me forgot to send her lots of happy birthday wishes. Nancy and I were secretly separated at birth, which was pretty amazing since she's a little older than me...and born in a different month on a different day. But seriously, we're twins. Nancy is also a huge Harry/VTTBOTS fan who secretly wishes some of us would write more Harry/VTTBOTS fics. Um, yeah, how about those Lions?
On the upside, she's also a big Brass fan and gives really awesome reviews for all my fics, including the Harry ones--even though you know, she wants more Harry fics.
Nancy, I hope you had a great birthday and in your honor, I'm going to have ice cream. Yay!
Who's the Birthday Girl today?
Sep. 9th, 2007 01:58 pmWhy it's
inamberclad of course!
I'm sending you something but because I'm having a hard time hunting it down, it's late. Hopefully, it'll be to you before Christmas. Don't laugh. It could happen.

Vegas Redux and Late Birthday Wishes
Sep. 3rd, 2007 08:16 pmWe're going to Vegas again. The trip is set for November 3rd thru the 7th and hopefully this time, all three of us will make it. We have our plane tickets and today I booked the rooms. I tried to get the same King and Queen Bellagio suites we had last time but I couldn't get the special rate so the woman at the Bellagio made another recommendation that is actually a bit cheaper. So now we are booked for 4 nights in a Penthouse suite and connecting suite. The room includes a limo to and from the airport so in a slight cost saving move, we decided to bag the rental car this time. We'll just stagger every where we want to go. Or take a taxi.
On a separate note, HAPPY TWO DAYS LATE BIRTHDAY to
barracudacool! I'm such a loser, I totally missed that your birthday was Saturday. Hope you spent the day doing great things.

Book meme and belated birthday wishes
Jun. 13th, 2007 11:45 pmBecause
crusherbevdr tagged me and I like being tagged. Most of the time.
1. Grab the book closest to you.
2. Open to page 123, go down to the fifth sentence.
3. Post the text of next 3 sentences on your blog.
Note: Getting hit with a chair from behind, or from any side by a metal chair, will inflict a significant amount of pain and injury.
Use the techniques in "How to Be Ready for Anything" (p.130) to help defuse a situation and the techniques in "How to Win a Fight When You're Outnumbered" (p.133) to try to dodge either a metal chair or one coming from behind.
Getting hit with a wooden chair is going to hurt no matter what you do, but if you see it coming, and you have protected yourself properly, the hit will cause little permanent damage.
4. Name the book and the author.
The Action Hero's Handbook by David Borgenicht and Joe Borgenicht
Um, my computer is near a stack of books--I picked the one on top. Consider this a PSA for the next time you're in a bar fight. And note that getting hit with chairs will hurt. A lot.
5. Tag three other people.
I'm tagging anyone who wants to give it a go.
And now for something completely different: Happy Belated Birthday to
cincoflex! I hope your day was perfect!

Birthday Afterglow and Harris Teeter love
Mar. 20th, 2007 11:22 pmI have to give a huge THANK YOU to the amazing
jenbachand for the most awesome gift she sent last night. That was such a surprise and it really made my day. Thank you so much!
So I get into work this morning and open my door to see that my boss, Suzanne, has decorated my office. Yes, it was pretty funny because it looked like I was sitting under this rainbow octopus. Much joking from co-workers ensued.
I can't believe that I'm this old and birthdays still don't suck.
Oh, and can I just say that I'm madly in love with Harris Teeter? They make this Kalamata Olive and Rosemary bread that is to die for. Top it with the double creme cheese spread with crab and grilled artichokes and you can just bury me now.

Another Year Older
Mar. 19th, 2007 11:20 pmToday is my birthday and all in all, it was a pretty good day. My friends took me out to dinner Saturday night and today my boss, Suzanne, and I skipped work and spent the afternoon at Elizabeth Arden Red Door getting facials, pedicures and manicures. When I got home I had a vase of flowers from Suzanne and a basket of African violets from my best friend waiting by the door as well as some surprise b-day cards (thanks, N!) in the mail. So all in all, it was a pretty good birthday.
My dad called yesterday to say that he and my stepmother were currently driving towards Boulder and they'd miss my birthday so we'd do something when they got back. That works for me. I just thought it was funny that yet again, I had no idea where my parents are. They really need to leave a note.
Today is also my mom's birthday. I was born on her 20th birthday. Yeah, it's kind of cool to be a birthday present but it sucked when I was a kid because it meant I never got to pick the cake. It always had to be what my mom wanted. The reason she always gave me: she was there first. We don't get along very well.
Oh, and as a great little present to myself, I leaned over and smacked my forehead against the sink. Now whenever I lean over, I have a ginormous headache to go with the very attractive lump on my head. At least my skin looks nice though.

Catching Up
Mar. 18th, 2007 03:05 pmI’m very behind on things yet again. Anyone else need an extra day added to the weekend?
I missed wishing
anamin a Happy Birthday so here are belated wishes.
Very Happy Birthday to
piecesofalice! Hope you get everything you want and more on your day!
Last night I went to dinner at Carrabas with a couple of friends. My one friend, George, is remodeling his kitchen and is very stressed about it. Well, after two glasses of wine, other things he’s stressing about came out as well, I’m sure much to the chagrin of the people sitting behind us. Namely, his sexual identity. My other friend and I and just about anyone else who meets George think George is gay. Apparently, George hasn’t reconciled that fact within himself yet and it’s causing him some issues. I have another friend, Fred, who went through this crisis about 10 years ago. He finally came out and once he did, his stress level dropped and he was so much calmer about life in general. I hope George figures things out because right now, he's not very fun to be around. And he really does deserve to be happy.
A rare Caps game on a Sunday afternoon. They finally got the fantabulous Olaf Kolzig back in the net and suddenly, they’ve come alive again. Okay, so it’s probably a little late but still…
And finally,
tos_lover has posted her Jim/Catherine smut fic over on
geekfiction. Go and read! It’s awesome!
I missed wishing
