Getting a late start on this so I'm sure it won't actually get posted until after midnight. I'll back date of course. I was so tired tonight, I didn't even get on the treadmill. I think shoveling a couple of tons of snow this week is a fair trade-off.

I finally watched last week's CSI episode. I can't believe it took me so long. I remember when I would look forward to Thursday's episode. Now it gets bumped in favor of hockey and I forget that I even recorded it. But I still love Brass and as long as PG is on the show, I'll continue to watch. And wish he'd grow his hair out. Seriously. The buzzcut has to go. More on this later.

I can't even remember what the name of the episode was but there was this cheerleader who paraded around in her cheerleading uniform. )

I almost forgot to post tonight. Actually, I didn't forget, I just let time get away from me and didn't get started until 11:30. And yes, I did edit the date.

Technically it was the 8th when I started this. )

Today was a great day and it has nothing to do with the Super Bowl.

This storm has completely blown away the December storm. That looks like a dusting by comparison. This is more like the blizzard of '96, although I think it's going to surpass that one too. I went out last night and shoveled the 50 ft from my front door to my neighbor's front door. It was at least 10". This morning, 12 hours later, I shoveled another 10-12". They just gave the totals for my area: 30". It's going to take days to dig out from this one.

They were predicting 18-24" inches of snow from this storm and it's looking like we're going to get every bit of it.

What, like you thought you weren't going to hear any more about snow? )

I'm not sure why I love snow so much. I guess maybe it's because I'm channeling my childhood, where we'd sit by the TV, waiting for the weatherman to announce the school closings, giggling at the way the new guy butchered the pronunciation of towns with names like Pushmataha, Pottawatomie, and Tahlequah.

Yes, I still get excited for snow )

I don't have a fireplace so the fire isn't so delightful but we definitely have let it snow, let it snow, let it snow!

I cannot tell you how happy this makes me )

I <3 snow!

We got our first snow! I didn't believe the weathermen because they always say it will snow, I get excited, and then nothing but maybe a dusting. But this has actual accumulation! It's a very heavy, very sloppy snow too. The kind you walk in and it turns to slush. The kind that's very easy to drive in but paralyzes our moisture paranoid drivers. The kind that weighs down the branches to my Willow tree so that it hits you in the face when you're carrying in groceries (hey, I had to get my hair cut and that always means a trip to Whole Foods). The kind that makes me crave Frito Chili Pie for dinner tonight. I don't remember the last time I was in this good of a mood! Oh, and every time it snows, I cannot get the song, "Let it Snow" out of my head.

Fun fact heard while driving in snow: it has snowed here on December 5th for five of the past seven years. It didn't snow on the 5th last year. It snowed on the 6th. Pretty interesting.

I am so happy right now that words almost fail me. It's snowing! And these are some of the biggest snowflakes I have ever seen in my life. I mean ginormous! I love how quiet it is when it snows and how beautiful and calm everything appears. Snow can make ugly look pretty.

Oh, and what's the best thing to accompany a snow storm, you ask? KFC's hot wings. Seriously. I actually got into my car and went out in this just because I had to have them. And yes, the snow is beyond beautiful but it's also slicker than snot. I have tickets to the Caps game tonight but I will happily watch the game from the toasty comfort of my home rather than risk life and car. I could stare out the window all day--now that I'm back home of course.

Snow!

It's snowing! Big fat, fluffy flakes and it's accumulating. *does happy snow dance* I love snow! Yes, I know one of you who lives in the Upper Peninsula is rolling her eyes at that last statement as well as my happy snow dance but it's true. This is our first snowstorm (probably the only one we'll get too if I believe the snow forecast) and it's an Alberta Clipper so we're only supposed to get about 3" but it was enough to snarl traffic and give me an excuse to work from home--and possibly sneak away to Starbucks.

Did I mention I love snow?

It's snowing! I don't care if there's no accumulation--although they're saying maybe an inch or two--just seeing those little white flakes fall from the sky makes me so happy!

Days like this make me want to write...
