Want Some Cake?

Seriously. I have two cakes so there's plenty to share.
My boss and her family sent me a Perfect Endings Devils Food Chocolate cake to die for and then another friend sent me a Junior’s carrot cake that looks soooo yummy! They both have to thaw but I can’t wait to dig in. If you’ve never had anything from Perfect Endings, I’m telling ya, you have to splurge sometime. I heard about the cupcakes from watching Oprah (shuddup) and decided to order them on a whim. ZOMG! So good! I'm sure the cake will be just as melt in your mouth yummy. Oh, and to top it all off, my aunt and uncle sent me an edible arrangement. I've been on a fruit kick lately so this was perfect. It's this massive arrangement of assorted melons, strawberries, oranges and grapes. Luckily, my frig has shelves that can be removed.
Add to the cake and fruit love some virtual gift love from
inamberclad and
airforce_chic. Then there's the mail love...
Last week I got a card from
gsr_sara_gil and cards and packages from
jenbachand and
tos_lover. I was a good girl and waited until this morning to actually open everything. It was like Christmas!
I got biscotti and coolest mug teapot ever from
tos_lover. I love tea and biscotti and can’t wait to give both a try. From
jenbachand I got a box of cool stuff. I particularly love the notepad, tire gauge (always a good thing to have on hand), the fold-up bag (great for traveling) and the letter opener. Btw, I have the CSI Magazine, NYC edition to send to you, if you’re still interested in it.
Also worth mentioning is the really cool card I got from Cirque du Soleil. It plays this tune that’s basically the same thing over and over but I love it. Hey, I’m old now. Simple things amuse me.
Called mom this morning to wish her a happy birthday (she turned 65 today). We had a nice chat. It’s funny but we don’t get along in person but on the phone? It’s mostly all good. I’m not even going to try to figure that out.
Usually I’d go to my dad and stepmother’s tonight for dinner and cake but my sister’s birthday is this Sunday so my stepmother called over the weekend to ask if it would be okay if we did one big Easter dinner and cake. That worked out perfectly for me. I had a massage scheduled for tonight and then I really wanted to see the Caps play the Blackhawks so now I can. On the way home from the massage, I stopped at Moby Dick’s for some carry-out kabobs and now I get to look forward to cake.
My thanks to everyone for all the good wishes and thoughtfulness. All in all, this was a pretty great birthday.
