For the few of you on my f'list who also play over on the Jim Brass Forum yes, it has temporarily imploded. Don't know when it will be back up but when it is, it might not be the same pretty.

Tonight was the season premier of CSI. Yes, I am one of the few who still watch this mess. I'll continue to watch as long as Paul Guilfoyle continues to renew his contract. I hope this is his last year and then he moves on to something new and different because I don't think I can take another season of "let's see how badly the writers have effed up this show" or, how I've come to want to punch Catherine Willows in the face. And hopefully, when Catherine goes, she'll drag her little whipped boy with her.

Carol Mendelsohn specifically mentioned Brass when she talked about this episode in TV Guide. I was kind of surprised she remembered he was a character on the show. She rarely, if ever, mentions him. But she did and she said it was "personal to Brass" so I was looking forward to it. It's becoming customary that Brass gets a "very special episode" at the end of the season. In the past it's been Hollywood Brass, then there was Bang, Bang and Way to Go (well, that one kind of got overshadowed by other events) and last season it was Hog Heaven. I guess this is payback for ignoring him all season. Let me just say, he needs to be paid back more often.

I finally watched last week's CSI episode. I can't believe it took me so long. I remember when I would look forward to Thursday's episode. Now it gets bumped in favor of hockey and I forget that I even recorded it. But I still love Brass and as long as PG is on the show, I'll continue to watch. And wish he'd grow his hair out. Seriously. The buzzcut has to go. More on this later.

( I can't even remember what the name of the episode was but there was this cheerleader who paraded around in her cheerleading uniform. )

For those of you not watching CSI, I'm looking at you, inamberclad, you really are missing one of the best seasons in a long time (sorry, I haven't much liked CSI since S6). This one amused me greatly.

If I'd known there was going to be so much Brass goodness in this episode, I would have watched it sooner. This was an excellent surprise!

That might have been one of the best CSI's I've seen in a long time. I really like episodes that Naren Shankar writes.

The banner is so pretty, I couldn't resist. A huge thank you to everyone who nominated my fic!

Went to Game 1 and Game 2 of the Caps-Rangers quarterfinals. Caps lost. Caps won Game 3 in MSG, lost Game 4. Caps were down 3 games to 1. Teams down by two have only an 8% chance of coming back and winning the series. Caps won Game 5 and Game 6. The series was tied and Game 7 was in DC. After watching Game 6, I checked the links friends had sent me to buy tickets online and finding a seat at Club level, I made the spontaneous decision to go. Holy crap it was the best seat and the best game ever! When Sergei Federov scored the winning goal, the Verizon Center erupted. And for the final five minutes of the game, no one sat down, no one quit yelling. No one could hear. It was so freakin' loud. It was unbelievable.

So today I went online and ordered another ticket for Game 1. I'm two rows from the ice, to the side of the net. I'd like to be up higher but it was the only seat available and I'll get to see guys get slammed into the boards. Awesome!

Sophie had her surgery today and is back home. And boy, is she ever happy to be home! She's been clingy all day but I think part of the reason is because she's a hurtin' kitty. I got some pain meds to give the little girl and she took the first dose okay but it's obvious she's still in a bit of pain. She keeps making this squinty face and she won't settle down. I think she will when I go to bed though. She has a couple of shaved front legs and her tail has a little pom pom on the end and three inches of shaved tail. They put stitches in her tail and I was worried that she might be pulling at them but every time she looks at it, she instantly turns away, like it hurts to even think about licking at it. I should hear in the next few days whether the growth is benign or malignant. If it's malignant, her tail will have to come off. Obviously, I'm really hoping it's benign.

I have high hopes for an episode where Brass shows up at a crime scene in a polo shirt and a windbreaker.
