Sophie Update and This Week on CSI

Sophie had her surgery today and is back home. And boy, is she ever happy to be home! She's been clingy all day but I think part of the reason is because she's a hurtin' kitty. I got some pain meds to give the little girl and she took the first dose okay but it's obvious she's still in a bit of pain. She keeps making this squinty face and she won't settle down. I think she will when I go to bed though. She has a couple of shaved front legs and her tail has a little pom pom on the end and three inches of shaved tail. They put stitches in her tail and I was worried that she might be pulling at them but every time she looks at it, she instantly turns away, like it hurts to even think about licking at it. I should hear in the next few days whether the growth is benign or malignant. If it's malignant, her tail will have to come off. Obviously, I'm really hoping it's benign.



The clip of the old Astro Quest and we see the Karate Chop of Doom, made famous in every 60's TV show. Ah, good times.

I really liked this. It was funny, had nice team interaction and Brass continues his quest to be awesome.

Hodges: Jim, it's Hodges.
Brass: Who?
Hodges: From Trace. We have a situation from the Whatifacon
Brass: The Whatifawhat? How'd you get this number?
Hodges says something about cloning Grissom's cell phone and then: He's dead, Jim

It only took 9 years for someone to say it.

Anyone catch the cameo of Grace Park in the crowd, right before RDM shouted, "you suck"?

Doc is mean. I'm sorry, but gray hair doesn't make the guy Mr. Loveable. I think he's Mr. Surly. I understand that David was driving Doc crazy with quotes but seriously, Doc is not nice. And I've never liked how pissy he generally is to Brass.

Love Brass' jaunty run up the stairs of the geek house. He even gives a little hop as he starts up the stairs. He seemed amused by the mother's resigned look. Loved the "not amused" look he gives the two scifi buddies during their interview.

Brass and Kate Vernon's character were great together. I loved how sympathetic he was to her. He even promises to do everything to help her. He doesn't say that very often. But I love the way he trumps her on "One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest". Even better though was his, "an epistemological dichotomy? I just call that second degree murder." The professor didn't realize the cop was a very smart guy.

I really love Weddle and Thompson. I hope they keep writing CSI because I love their episodes.

So very glad to hear that Sophie is doing okay. I'm hoping it isn't bad news that you get either.

I really enjoyed CSI last night. Got a kick out of the show poking subtle fun at RDM for remaking BSG. I definitely saw Grace Park -- did you see Rekha Sharma (Tory) a few people down from RDM? I heard rumors that Hogan might've had a cameo too. Needless to say I laughed loudly when they appeared, especially RDM. Brass was awesome in it. "Red alert." And is it just me or is the lightning different/a lot brighter in the interview room?

I really love Weddle and Thompson. I hope they keep writing CSI because I love their episodes.

Next week will be news week: kitty news, job news, Caps bounced from the playoffs news. Just all-around newsy.

I thought I saw Rekha Sharma the first time watching but then I wasn't sure it was her so I went back and watched again. Definitely her. I read where someone thought they saw Hogan but the guy they were saying was him, definitely wasn't him.

And I agree about the lighting. They still use the blue room but they've been using a much brighter/whiter room too. I have to say, I really love Brass in the blue room. He looks so good when he's in that blue light.

I really hope they cut some of the older, duller writers and keep Weddle and Thompson. I just love them to bits.

Would you believe I had the exact same shameless thought? When Brass was standing behind her I kept thinking, "damn, they'd make a hot couple!"

I haven't laughed so hard at an episode of CSI in a very long time.

I thought that was RDM with the "you suck" but I only caught the tail end of that exchange and wasn't sure (I had a needy cat)

missed Grace Park. I'll be downloadng and watching this one again...

Thank you so much for healing kitty thoughts! I think the amazing thing is that the two boys have left her alone. Usually they're bugging the crap out of her.

Although I was looking forward to this episode, I didn't think I'd enjoy it as much as I did. Probably because I wasn't expecting Brass to be in it as much as he was. These lab rat episodes are usually Brass-lite. But even without the great Brass, the BSG cameos really were awesome!

Oh, it's never fun waiting for kitty test results. Fingers crossed that it's benign and she doesn't have to lose any tail. I'm glad she's back home for some TLC.

I totally noticed the little hop, too. That's the kind of stuff that makes me squee about Brass. I didn't think I was going to enjoy this one too much because it may have been Brass-lite, but the whole phone call from Hodges changed me up on that. He could have only been in the ep for that one thing and I'd have been happy (remember the clown?).

I really was expecting a Shatner cameo though....

I'm feeling fairly optimistic about the biopsy. Then again, I was feeling fairly optimistic about the Capitals in the playoffs and so far they've sucked. But my girl has definitely been getting lots of TLC. If she wasn't spoiled before, she definitely is now.

I didn't think I was going to like this episode either for the exact same reason you mention. And I loved it for the exact same thing you mentioned. The bonus was his one-upping Kate Vernon's character at the end. That was awesome!

The Caps? Don't even get me started on the Sharks!!!! President's Cup and they FAIL in the first game. I mean major fail. But, they are up 1-0 at the moment. They have to win tonight. Have to. Hockey teams in the playoffs just don't come back from 2-0 down.

I really need a Brass/hockey icon. Or just a hockey one.

Take a look at my list of icons or ask inamberclad. I have a couple of PG/hockey icons that she made. I also have a great pic of him skating with the puck (even with the headgear, the nose gives him away). I should probably scan it and send to her so she can make an icon from it. Or make my own icon if I weren't so lazy.

I'm still optimistic the Caps can come back from 2-0 down. They are a better team than the Rangers and can beat them on the road if they just play their game. But if they lose tomorrow, all bets are off.

Hockey teams in the playoffs just don't come back from 2-0 down.

Not unless they are the Washington Capitals! Down 3-1, came back to tie the series 3-3 and won it tonight. Boo-yah!

They were showing famous people in the crowd on the Jumbotron and it made me wonder if maybe PG went to any of the playoff games. He could have hit MSG for the Rangers/Caps. I think they were still filming when Boston swept the Habs.

You know, all through the regular season as the Bruins got better and better and didn't collapse, all I heard was that they were a young team and wouldn't do well in the playoffs because of a lack of post season experience. Well let's just take a look at them vs. the Sharks, shall we? Un-freakin-believable. I mean the Bruins swept their series. And we couldn't even get past the first round this year. I'll give Hiller his due, he stopped just about everything the Sharks threw at him. It'll be interesting how well he does in the next round.

But yeah, I saw the Caps won last night. Hell of a comeback, and it wouldn't have surprised me if PG were there. Maybe that was his bday present, getting to go a game in NY.

All it takes sometimes is hot goaltending. The Rangers are not that good but Lundqvist had a hot stick and got in the Caps' heads during the first couple of games. After game 1, we pulled our inconsistent goaltender in favor of the very young AHL rookie and he got in their heads (posted two shut-outs). Tim Thomas had the hot stick in Boston. I'm guessing Hiller got in the Sharks' head and that was all she wrote. If a team can't figure out the goaltender, they'll never recover.

I'm looking forward to the 'Canes - Bruins series. The 'Canes are a hot team and the pathetic Habs didn't do Boston any favors by giving them such an easy series. Boston could be in for a nasty surprise.

Pens - Caps will be good too, if only because of the hate we have for Sindy Crosby. I know the Caps can beat all the teams in the East--we took the series with all the remaining teams. If we make it to the Cup final though, we probably lose--unless it's Detroit. The Caps don't do well against West Coast teams.

Hiller so got into the Sharks' heads. Don't know if you saw any of the games, but the only game where the Sharks skated well and were smooth and cohesive was in game 3. The other games they just never got going and gave the puck away and just skated plain ugly. And the fights, holy crap, some of them were superb.

It'll be interesting to see where the Caps go. I'm certainly not rooting for the Ducks, that's for sure.
