First Post of February

So maybe a month ago,
unwrittenkitten mentioned something called NaBloPoMo. Technically, it's supposed to be in November but since February is a short month and I've been wanting to post more, I thought I'd join my friend and give it a shot. Since we are being non-conformists and rebels, we get to make our own rules (posting in February, minimum 300 words) so if anyone wants to join us, jump in!
I suspect this will mostly consist of me subjecting anyone brave enough to follow along to all my random thoughts. Lucky you.
I guess the biggest news over the last month or so is that my grandmother fell and broke her hip. She's 87 and down to 97 lbs due to some health problems. She'd been in the hospital for a couple of days and then they transferred her to one of those convalescent care places. Her first night there, she fell twice, the first time giving herself a black eye, the second time breaking her hip. That was two weeks ago. She came through the surgery just fine and has been in rehab for a week and a half. She's even gained a couple of pounds. Longevity runs rampant with the women on my mom's side of the family. I'm sure the men would have said it's because they're too mean to die (they long outlived all the men) and that could be true. My great grandmother was 106 (we thought she was 103 until my aunt found her birth certificate) when she passed away and a couple of her sisters also made it over the century mark too.
Work has sucked out my sense of humor. I felt it going back in June and then *pop*! Out it went in July. Every now and again it makes an appearance and then it's gone again. I really need it back because it's really starting to piss me off. Just last month it took clever and witty with it and now all I'm left with is bitchy. Bitchy never leaves. She's like a fungus.
I bought a Droid recently. Can anyone recommend any good apps to download, free or not? How about for the iPod Touch? I need to be entertained when I have to wait. See that part about bitchy.

Date: 2010-02-02 04:53 am (UTC)They try to scare us with hell but what they don't know is that after work, hell is just a toasty vacation spot.
Bitchy treats me well. It's not so great for others though ;-)

Old joke: Why do men usually die first? Because they want to.
It goes with the other old one: Why is divorce so expensive? Because it's worth it.

And yet, that is one of the funniest things ever. May I

Date: 2010-02-02 02:37 pm (UTC)I feel you on loosing your sense of humor mine died at some point during the job hunt.
I've heard droids are fun. I say check out game apps if you like games.
They have movie apps, restaurant apps (which you should like) book apps so you can read on your ipod touch (so like a computer screen).
YAY for hearing more from you :)

Date: 2010-02-03 01:37 am (UTC)As for apps, I was looking for any suggestions of games apps or movie apps, etc. There are so many out there, it's hard to choose the best one.

Date: 2010-02-03 02:05 am (UTC)I miss my webphone. It died on me when I went into hospital early for little D. (I think it died from overuse!) I never had one that could get 'apps'. But I want one!
Thats the nasty truth about 'jobs'. *Sighs* They pay you.. but they take all the fun out of life. Try to wrestle that sense of humour back. It's not theirs to have.
Hang in there. Theres life outside 'the office'. Good luck in grabbing hold of it!

Date: 2010-02-03 05:21 am (UTC)My favorite games are Bonsai Blast, flood-it, jewels, wordup, and a crossword app called shortyz.
My "tool" apps are RemoteDroid, PDAnet, Listen, note everything, Checkbook Genius, Ringdroid, Eljay, Secrets, and Photoshop mobile.
Fun apps are Movies (by flixter ), seesmic (for twitter), the Aldiko ebook reader, my tracks, shazam, and the Dolphin browser. You can get Dock Runner and save $25, too.
Hope that helps!
