Oh, the weather outside is frightful...

I don't have a fireplace so the fire isn't so delightful but we definitely have let it snow, let it snow, let it snow!
I got through the big review last night (2 1/2 hours of my life I'll never get back), went to a massage appointment I originally thought I was going to have to cancel, stopped for cat supplies, food supplies, and Kabobs from Moby Dick's. I have my work laptop and am not planning to go back into the office until January 5th. I'm not off the entire time but work should be a much more leisurely pace than the chaos we just came through. Maybe now my left eyelid will stop twitching.
Back to the snow. So far I'm hearing we're at 12" and will top out at 20 to 24". We are under a blizzard warning later because once the snow stops, it's going to start blowing but it's practically a white out right now, it's snowing so hard. Did I mention I love this? I went out around 11am and shoveled the 8-10" already on the ground and an hour later, we had another 2". Still, I figure it's easier to shovel 10" than 20". My neighbor's daughter and son in law are here for the holidays and they were out shoveling so we made it a party. I told Shanna, the daughter, that I first met her mom during the blizzard of '93. That one hit in early March, just after I bought my place and we were all digging ourselves out at the same time. Snow makes for good neighbors.
Pudgy the hobo cat is toasty and dry in her box. I put an old umbrella over it so she has extra cover. During the night the umbrella collapsed a little but her box is between a large tree planter box and the lattice covering the A/C unit so it held up and is keeping the snow from coming into her box. It also gives her a dry-ish area for her to come out and eat. Not sure what she's doing about the other. But she's safe and warm and dry and that makes me happy. Oh, and at one point while I was shoveling the front, she came out of the back and around to the front porch started yeowling her head off. She got there by wading through 10" of snow and was not going to go back so she let me pick her up and carry her to the back yard. I was pretty impressed that she trusted me that much. She never even squirmed when I held her.
I've got a craving for stew and have the perfect recipe and all the ingredients hence, the trek into Wegman's last night. Oh, and the grocery store last night was unbelievable! All the produce was gone. Gone. There was plenty of milk and toilet paper but the bread was decimated as well.
Is it weird that snow makes me want to clean my house?
