And Now I Got Nothing

It's too bad Russia never showed up for the game with Canada. I had high hopes for a good game but that was pathetic. I blame the whole team but the Russian coach gave the game away.
Hockey is a team game and while most of these guys don't play together regularly, at least Canada skated like a team. And they could pass. Russia on the other hand looked completely disjointed and most of their passes either didn't reach their target or went to the other team. The Russian goaltending was even worse. Sure, a goalie can't do it all himself but Nabokov gave away at least three goals. And the Russian coach should be sent to Siberia (yeah, yeah, old cliche) for not pulling him sooner. If he'd pulled Nabokov at the beginning of the second period, it probably would have been a much closer game. The Russians still would have lost though. They weren't moving their feet enough. They quit skating and were just standing around for most of the first period. They paid for it. Obviously their coach didn't get them prepared for this game.
I honestly don't care who wins gold as long as it isn't Canada. But I wouldn't mind seeing USA vs. Canada again except that I don't want Canada to medal. And Dan Boyle needed to be ejected for slew footing Semin. That's about as dirty a play as you can make. I'll be glad when NHL hockey resumes. I miss my Chipotle and a game nights.
I love the song in that Kia commercial--the one with the toys that come to life and get a life.
Sometime over the last two months my cat, Harry, became a serious lap cat. I can't sit down now without him in my lap or bugging me to pay attention to him so he can get in my lap. He's lying across my lap right now as I type. Don't get me wrong, I love it. But maybe not every time I sit down.
I love how they show advisories on the weather map. They highlight all the counties involved. Like the snow/rain/wintry mix is going to come to the county line and stop.
I've been trying to find a bottle of Choya Ume Blanc sake to ship to my sister for her birthday. This stuff is OMG! good. So far, I'm not having a problem finding it but geez, the shipping is more than the sake.
Killer whale kills a trainer at Sea World in Orlando. Hello, people, it's a killer whale! When you confine them in a pen and make them do tricks, they eventually get pissed off.
Uninstalled ad blocker and surprise! I can preview and post to LJ again.
I think the Cowboys on The Amazing Race are my favorites this season. Those two guys are hilarious! Oh my gravy! I feel like they passed over a lot better singers on Idol this season because most of the ones that made it are not good. Maybe it's just first show jitters but no one wow'd me. Still, there are a few I do like and I love Andrew Garcia. And I don't care what anyone says, I could look at Simon all day. Also, I'm actually looking forward to an NBC show: Parenthood. I loved the movie so I hope this is as good.
Anyone know what happened to
alice_day? I hate when people fall off the map. Makes me worry about them. Plus, I really miss her fics.
My cat, Tucker, is a snotty mess. He sounds all congested, he sits around and makes noises like he's trying to blow boogers out his nose, and his sneezes could wake the dead. But he's eating and drinking and being sociable and the vet says those are good signs. Too bad they don't make the Neti pot for kitties. Of course, I don't think I want to be the one to try to get him to tilt his head just so...

Date: 2010-02-25 12:14 pm (UTC)No clue about Alice_Day which is a pity; I should nudge her on LJ. Wish I knew what happened to Kristen Elizabeth as well.
Sorry about the congested Kitty--hope he gets better!

Congested kitty sounds much better today. Unfortunately, older brother kitty is now sneezing.

Date: 2010-02-25 05:23 pm (UTC)I prefer the winter games over the summer ones, but either way the coverage (or what NBC claims is coverage, anyway) absolutely blows. Really, do I really want to see the US contender who is in 25th place with no chance of medaling or going through to the next round, or would I like to see someone higher in the standings even *gasp* if they are from one of those foreign countries? Because from the coverage I'm seeing, if I didn't know better I could believe that the olympics are just for Americans to compete in. And I say that with no envy, I'm programmed to accept British underachievement--the British invent stuff and everyone else perfects it. Take curling for example...
Oh, and what's with the Canada hockey hate? I'm waiting for a moment's free time to read your multiple entries about SoCal...

Date: 2010-02-27 05:04 am (UTC)I hate Sindey Crosby, simple as that.
You know, except for watching snowboarding, I really haven't watched any Olympic even except hockey. Every time I turn over to NBC, it's some stupid human interest story. I keep waiting for Mary Carillo's teeth to fly out of her mouth. Actually, that would be fun.
During the 1980 Olympics I was still in my massive Anglophile stage. My friend and I bought T-shirts with the Union Jack on them and we cheered on Great Britain. Back then they actually showed other countries.

Date: 2010-02-25 08:24 pm (UTC)I'll take Harry for a while and he can sit in my lap. I'll trade you my dog, who always wants to be in our laps. He weighs around 60 pounds. I had read where it said if you have a bigger dog, let him be in your lap as a puppy because he won't sit in your lap when he is bigger. My dog didn't read that book.
Hope Tucker boy feels better soon.

Date: 2010-02-26 01:30 am (UTC)I don't like Crosby so much, it taints my ability to be for Canada. There are a couple of others on the team I don't like either. But now I can cheer on the USA without any conflicts. If it had been USA vs Russia, I'd have been for the USA but I'd also want Ovie or Semin to score.
I bet you could learn to play curling. You should Google it and see if there are any clubs/leagues/whatever near you.
