A Little Bit of This and That

Russia plays Latvia in hockey at midnight tonight. I might have to record the game. Watching China and Finland women's hockey. Now this is good stuff! Who knew China could play such exciting hockey? There's definitely more action between these two teams than I've seen before.
I've had my right knee wrapped and iced since I got home tonight. I have no idea what I did to it but I can't bend it nor can I go up the stairs. And when I say I can't bend it, I really mean I can't bend it. Whatever I did, it happened at work, while I was sitting at my desk (hmm, wonder if this would qualify for workman's comp). I got up and all of a sudden I have searing pain when I try to walk. And later, the pain is running up and down my leg. It's never hurt this much--not even when I had knee surgery. It's not making a grinding noise so my boss, a veteran of three knee surgeries, says that's a good sign. The only thing I can think of is that I did something while shoveling and it took until today to pop. It has been bothering me a little but nothing like this. I'm staying off the treadmill tonight. Hopefully, that will help. Well, that and drugs.
Holy crap that Filet of Fish commercial is back. That insidious song is already in my head.
Commute this morning felt like the forces of nature were working against me. First it was the amount of traffic just getting out of the neighborhood because schools were on a 1hr delay. Then it was the closed exit off the Toll road due to what looked like an SUV that decided to try the downhill and wiped out. Several times. And finally there was the mile back up to get off at the next exit so I could back track to my exit (most of the mile backup had the same idea) from the other direction. My 20-25 minute commute took an hour.
Tucker spent yesterday at the vet. While he was showing a little improvement, he wasn't really getting better so I hauled him. I was afraid he might actually have an infection but no, it's the same old thing. He does seem to be much better after his little stay at the kitty health spa. He's eating in the morning and hanging out with me and thankfully, no longer sleeping in the litter box. Now if Harry would just stop staring at me. He's giving me the stink eye because I won't let him on my lap.
While I'm on the subject of cats, is there any creature that does sleeping better than these little fuzzballs? I love watching a kitty sleep: the way they wrap their tail around their body and cover their face with a paw. They look like they've tuned the entire world out and yet the first sound of crumpled paper and they're off the sofa and into the fray. And on a cold, sunny day, who doesn't envy their ability to find that last bit of warm sunshine to stretch out in?
