Déjà Vu, anyone?

For some reason the Jim Brass Forum currently hates me. I can't access it at all--it tries to connect and then times out. It's the only freaking website on the internet I want to access but can't. I'm thinking it's probably somehow related to Zone Alarm ForceField. That stupid program will sometimes cause Firefox to crash over and over.
Tonight's episode was something akin to "Toe Tags" meets "4x4". I didn't watch it live because the Caps were playing the Thrashers and hockey trumps all. I have tickets to the Caps/Maple Leafs game next Thursday so it'll be more of the same. I don't like Thursday night games because it throws off my TV schedule but again, hockey trumps all.
Ok, so this episode didn't thrill me at all. However, I knew it was written by Weddle and Thompson so I was expecting a little personal bit. I knew it was coming. And sure enough, there it was. BRASS HAS A BROTHER! I've known he had a brother since "Room Service" back in S6. It was supposedly in the script but got cut. I'm thrilled they finally added it in.
"I threw my brother threw a screen door. He broke a bowl of oatmeal on my head... But I can't imagine killing him."
They seem to be on a roll with the Brass backstory this season.
I really thought this was going to be a Brass bust. Too much Vartann and Cavaliere had me thinking Brass was done after the first case wrapped up so neatly. I was pleasantly surprised when he popped up at the end. I agree with
alice_day too. PG needs to grow his hair out a little. It really is too short. I know it's thinning more on top but it's just so damn short. He needs to go back to early S7 length.
The funniest bit had to be the commercial spokemen, Brass and Langston:
Brass: "Those incriminating DNA stains can be so hard to get out"
Langston: "Which is why professional criminals prefer chlorine bleach".
Ray had perfect timing, chiming in with that line. I really love the Ray and Brass team. They work well together.
After Ray's little explanation of how environmentally friendly detergent doesn't get out DNA stains, Brass says his other good line of the night: "This is how I clean up the planet" as he's having the girlfriend arrested.
Dr. Anspaugh from ER played the guy who hired the PI. And in a nice bit of type-casting, he played a surgeon. Maybe that's why I say "Hey, it's Dr. Anspaugh" when I see him.
Next week's episode looks a little meh. I like Nick and Brass is in the longer promo but Taylor Swift doesn't really excite me. Neither does emotional Nick. Oh well, I'll be at the hockey game.

Date: 2009-02-27 04:47 pm (UTC)I haven't been on the Brass forum in ages. And the sad truth of it? I think about all the stuff I'd have to read over there and know I don't have time to do it. So I keep putting it off. Just kick me in the ass, okay?

Date: 2009-02-28 05:20 am (UTC)As for PG's hair, I wonder if he's keeping it short because it's gotten thinner on top? I just wish he'd grow it out maybe another half an inch at least. Someone on that stupid show really needs to listen to us when it comes to how PG should appear.
