bunchofgrapes: (Brass - Unbuttoned)

Personally, I loved it! I really like Ray. I like his enthusiasm and his freshness. I like how he's an older guy (it seems like they are trying to make him older than he really is) who's at the bottom of the ladder, he's not perfect, he gets too involved, and he messes stuff up. I like how Nick is teaching him. I'm really liking Nick a lot now that he's matured. Ok, enough about Ray and Nick. On to Brass.

Anyone notice that when Brass went into the charred house, he had his trouser legs tucked inside boots? I've never noticed Brass wear boots before. Too bad Ray didn't.

Brass: How's the first day of school going, Professor?
Langston: I'll uh, tell you at recess.

Ok, so there was a very, very, very tiny Ellie reference when Riley says something about parents craving unconditional love.
Brass's response: Well, I know I do.

The scene in the fitness center was priceless. Brass shows up with his vitamin drink. Sits down next to pumping iron chick. Plays recording of her message for dead guy. Wife of dead guy asks why she's calling. Chick says dead guy owes her $20K for herbal supplements, the ones that give you diarrhea. Cut to Brass, drinking vitamin drink, then examining the bottle with a very worried face as she says that. Poor Brass. Then he gets to break up a slap fight.

Only complaint? Here we were just blessed with an episode where Brass was doing the cop things instead of the CSI's and then they go and ruin it by having CSI's on a stakeout. And not just one, hanging out with a detective, like we've seen in the past but just about the whole dang team!

Not to give anything away but the promo for next week's episode looks freaking awesome!

I agree with you on all accounts about this episode. I did miss the Ellie "reference." I'm sick and didn't pay too much attention to the small stuff tonight. But the gym scene is pure greatness. I would give anything to have him walk in on my next workout!

And, yeah, the last scene in next week's promo was awesome. Cannot wait.

Great episode. I liked all your comments regarding Ray and Nicky.

Haha, that Vitamin Water scene had me in stitches. Of course he didn't need any lines to pull off that scene so well.

Missed the promo. Good thing I've got it DVR'd. Will watch it again later today.

I really liked this ep and I really liked LF's intro episode being on the team. He seems to have good rapports with everyone and I even thought Hodges was moderately funny. I was a bit worried they were going to make some big deal about Hodges/Ray angst, but hopefully we've seen the last of that. I just don't think Hodges deserves that much characterization.
And yeah, I was amazed when I saw the CSIs on a stakeout. I mean really, even for this show that's a little hard to swallow. The Brass goodness was all over this ep, and I loved it.

But really, all that pales in comparison to the promo. I'm so excited about the next ep. Holy crap, PG gets to actually act, and have emotions.
