So good to see Brass again. It's been way too long!



I think this episode is almost as good as it can get for a Brass fan. Almost. Toss in a little romance and some Ellie and it's there. But honestly, we got Jim ripping off his tie and unbuttoning his shirt, Jim in short sleeves and no tie, sexy, sexy arm porn, Jim finally getting to punch that Hemi in the Charger, Jim running around in the brush, us getting a glimpse of the chain he wears around his neck, some backstory, and that left hand flex. I still can't believe he played such a large role in getting McKeen.

Note to PG: wear short sleeve shirts often and lose the tie. Seriously, the short sleeves and open collar make him look so much younger. It also shows off his physique, which is quite trim, thank you very much.

Oh, and anyone else think McKeen's sunglasses were a little bit femmy?

This was such a great episode: besides lots and lots of yummilicious Brass, there was a perfect mix of science, cops, and emotion. It was CSI at its best - something I haven't been able to say for a long time.

Plus, we got some Brass backstory. We find out that he visited Vegas 20 years ago and McKeen tried to see if he was on the take. Squeaky Brass didn't bite. Yay for Brass. He really is a good guy.

Of course all this Brass probably means he'll barely be in the next episode. But it was worth it.

He lost weight back at the beginning of S7 and never put it back on. I think the suits make him look a lot bigger than he really is. But damn, he really does need to wear vests and short sleeves all the time.

PG was quite delish in this episode. I thought he looked hot in the short sleeves and the vest. And as for the acting? He really rocked.

Definitely delish! I think I'm still in shock at the hotness. If he knew how much younger the short sleeves and not tie made him look, I don't think he'd ever wear a suit again.

And PG always rocks but he rocked it out of the park tonight. They all did.

Brass was HOT, what an awesome ep for him. Definitely agreed with the shortsleeves and vest!

There were random "you lieing sack of sh*t" comments being yelled out every time McKeen was on the screen.

But the guy who played McKeen did such a great job as the lying sack of shit. I'm kind of sad they caught him already.

Happy, happy sigh! So much yumminess. Plus at least a brief glimpse of Brass in uniform at the end.

I loved how they gave him a large part. Especially since they managed to develop the relationship between Brass and Warrick over the past eight years. It's a fitting cap.

I was very surprised at the large role they gave him but it seemed like for once they really divided up the time nicely. Grissom got a chunk of screen time, with and without Sara, Catherine and then Nick and Brass. Have to admit, I really like Nick and Brass working together the best. It's that whole 'seasoned cop, younger cop (in this case CSI)' formula that I grew up with.

I'll help you re-iterate the losing the suit thing. Keep losing the suit!!! I know I mentioned this at TalkCSI, but that was not your ordinary, everyday golf polo he had on. Towards the end of the episode, they had more Brass than I could have imagined from TPTB. I'm super glad that he got to arrest his boss. Makes you wonder what was going through Jim's mind when he arrested him.

You're right about the polo. I noticed how it clung to his shoulders instead of being loose, like Nick’s shirt, but I didn't really notice the shirt. Oh, and have you seen all the comments on YTDAW from people who just now noticed that "Brass is ripped"? Duh! The man plays hockey. Of course he's in shape.

Oh, and I loved the looks he was giving Nick when he caught up to him. Man, talk about alpha male...

Yeah, I was chuckling to myself about the comments on YTDAW. I had the same thoughts you did. The man plays sports. He must be doing some serious cardio or has a great diet, because you're right about him not gaining weight for the last 2 seasons.

About the shirt, AGAIN, I couldn't stop staring at it, 'cuz, you know it was on him. Once I saw the promo and saw what he had on, I knew what to look for when the episode finally aired. I really hope TPTB are finally giving him some freedom with his clothes on the show. If they did, why the hell did it take 9 damn seasons?!

With WP leaving, PG and MH will now be the seniors on the show. Maybe they're going to start pimping PG to the older crowd. Then again, maybe someone's been lurking on LJ or the Jim Brass forum...

And yeah, he was playing in a hockey league through S7 for sure and probably into S8. The man is in shape, which says a lot given he's pushing 60.

heh! VR and I watched the ep together long distance, and periodically when Brass was on the screen either she or I would comment about how much YOU would be loving the scene, so it's great to see we were both right!

I posted this over on the Brass Forum but forgot to mention it here. The writers totally eff'd up his timeline. Brass says he came to Vegas 20 years ago but based on the backstory they gave in Hollywood Brass, it's more like 15 years ago. First they take two years off his life and now they have him in Vegas before Annie left New Jersey. Writers fail again.

Oh, and if this doesn't inspire you to write, nothing will. It definitely inspired me. Of course now all I want to write is Brass smut. Not that there's anything wrong with that.

I have only seen short clips so far, but I was disappointed to see that at the funeral, they had closeups of a lot of the characters, but not Brass. Seriously, WTF?

And Sofia should have been there. Maybe she was sitting in the back, waiting for Jim.

Except for the part where Jim was tearing at the buttons of his shirt, he really didn't show much emotion about Warrick's death so I'm sure that means it probably hit him once he got home. And of course Sofia was there, waiting for him.

And they always blow off Brass when it comes to the "team". He used to be part of the team but not any more.
