Today is supposed to be a lucky day. Eh, I have to admit, it wasn't too bad. I hit all the lights coming home from picking up dinner so that was pretty lucky. My sector is re-aligning and re-organizing and so far, I still have a job. That's lucky--I think. I got an hour and a half massage that put me to sleep for the last half hour - not so much lucky as lovely. Oh, and I managed to drop off all my recycling and then get to the massage on time. That really was lucky.

Hugs and kisses to the Canadians for sending us some of their cool air for a few days. Seriously, I can't thank you enough! Normally, August in Northern VA consists of three words: hazy, hot, humid. Today it was 85 with low humidity and a lovely breeze out of the Northeast. Tomorrow, highs in the low 80's and even lower humidity. They're even saying tomorrow night will drop into the 50's. Where am I, Portland, Oregon?

And speaking of Portland, I was watching House Hunters (don't judge me) tonight and they were at Bella Beach in Lincoln City. That's where my cousins and I went last year and the house we stayed in along with the new houses they were building at the time were on the show! Yeah, it doesn't take much to excite me.

Lastly, this makes me very, very angry. I mean, spitting nails, yelling at the sheriff and PG County police chief whenever they're on TV, I've never felt this angry about an injustice before, angry.

You're very welcome.

He he, of course, it certainly didn't come from this part of Canada, because it was nauseatingly hot here, before the lightning came. I work in the Alberta Research Council building, and even that braintrust couldn't figure out how to keep the building from turning into an oven. :) But what can you do with those giant picture windows when it's 30 C outside?

Of course . . . 30 C is 86 Fahrenheit. You mean it gets hotter in places that people live in? ;)

Oh that IS horrible! We had a similar case like that around here. I don't remember the outcome of it. I think the dog survived, but only after a whackload of vet bills.

As for the weather, my little bit of Canada has cooled off quite a bit the last few days thanks to all the rain. Highs of 18c (68F or so) over the weekend, only going up to about 25 the rest of the week. (82F or so)

So I guess we're sharing! But really, you're welcome to it! We don't get a very long summer here. And I really really hate being cold. Soon enough we'll be buried under mountains of snow that need to be shoveled from the driveway again. *Sighs* Id much rather be mowing the lawn.

The dog story blows my mind. It's made a pretty big stir out here, too. Not just the dogs being hunted and assassinated, but the fact that the Sheriff's department takes no liability or apology whatsoever. Injustice is a very, very big deal to me and this is a huge miscarriage.

We've had a few heatwaves this summer, but for the most part it's been bearable. Yeah, East Coast summers? As much as I'll love living on your seaboard, I'm not sure how well I'll do the summer. The UK gets pretty muggy in the summer, but we just never got the sun and heat to go with it.
