This just in, there seems to be a bit of movement in the once lifeless body, aka the writer's strike: Les Moonves wants to get back to the table. It's the first positive thing I've seen a member of the AMPTP say but I still hope CBS tanks without their regular scripted shows.

Now, onto CSI...

Brass got the line right before the opening. Yay Brass!

I liked Jim's interaction with Nancy (heh, Nancy, just like Jim's ex). When she said something about not collecting from the bull before a ride and Jim says "like an athlete before a game" I had to laugh. It's interesting what Brass knows.

Um, one observation. What the hell happened to Brass's office? His computer and the lamp from his desk are gone. I know the strike was already going on when this was filmed. I guess the prop guys were already gone? And those chairs in his office were hideous! I think they must have got those from a 70's government surplus store.

All that talk about bulls and capturing semen was just a bit TMI for Jim and his expression showed it. But Nancy's parting comment about not being a one bull kind of gal and then the wink? Priceless! Brass gets all the flirty girls.

Wow, Joseph Campanella got like 4 seconds (he was the old guy who came into Jim's office). Of course he also got really old. For those of us who go way back, he was a character actor from the 60's - 80's. I think he also played the dad on One Day at a Time.

Ever noticed how when a character from a previous episode reappears, he ends up dead? Happened to Danilo Zamesca (first appeared in ABRTI then ended up a victim in Redrum) and now Precious Ricky. There are probably others as well.

All weirdness regarding discussions with pretend characters aside, if Jim ever talked to me on the phone, I'd be useless for the rest of the week. His voice is yummilicious.

I kinda wanted to hear Brass's response to that buckle bunny's asking him who wouldn't want someone to marry you, take care of you, yada, yada, yada. Liked how she started that with "hey cop" too.

When Nick is talking to Troy after taking the lead from Brass, I have to wonder if Brass isn't a little relieved. He sure didn't protest much and the last time he tried to talk a guy out of a situation didn't go so well. If that had been the earlier seasons, he'd been all over Nick for approaching a guy with a gun.

When Brass and Nick approach Nancy, Paul has his finger on his bottom lip. He's doing that because he's about to crack up. You can see the smile on his face (watch his eyes) for just a second or two and then he covers. Makes me think Nicole whatsername said something funny. And a few seconds later, when he runs his hand over his face, you can see him still trying to stifle a laugh.

Brass in the LVPD windbreaker. He needs to wear it all the time, preferably without the tie but the loose tie was nice. Besides being really, really hot in the jacket, it shows off PG's build a lot better than the stupid suit jackets do.

Oh, and this really was the best line from the show: Hodges' "more cowbell" in a perfect Christopher Walken.

I have to agree with you on all points here, and add that it was cool too that neither Brass nor Grissom seemed at all reluctant to walk into the ring--that little unconscious macho-ism had me very happy!

I just about died when Hodges came off with the "More cowbell". My favorite SNL line ever.

I noticed the look on his face when he was walking in with Nicky, and I wondered what was so amusing. I didn't catch the hand wipe tho. And Nancy was a hoot. The look on Brass's face whenever he was was with her was like he was always ready with a wince. When he and Nick approach Troy I totally thought what you did, too. He's really hesitant and obviously not thrilled with the situation.

When he's on the phone with Cath. Um, yeah, amazing how a five second scene can highlight what I love about him.

And a call out to Nick's red shirt. He looks good in red. All around good ep for Brass, but overall a bit boring I thought.

Hee! Gotta love it when they flirt with him! One has to wonder if Brass has been to a rodeo before...
