What the hell did I do this year?

1. What did you do in 2007 that you’d never done before?
I went to Las Vegas and Portland, OR.
2. Did you keep your New Years’ resolutions, and will you make more for next year?
I think I made a resolution about writing that I kept. Other than that, I don't recall making any. Yes, I'll probably make more though. I need the motivation.
3. Did anyone close to you give birth?
Yes, my friend, Stephanie, had a little boy in January.
4. Did anyone close to you die?
My great grandmother passed away a month ago.
5. What countries did you visit?
Just the one I'm in.
6. What would you like to have in 2008 that you lacked in 2007?
Better organizational skills.
7. What dates from 2007 will remain etched upon your memory?
February 28th (the day I had to put my kitty, Emma, to sleep) and June 2nd (the day I walked into Petco and fell in love with a meowing little furball now named Tucker).
8. What was your biggest achievement of the year?
I had my 22nd laser treatment, which was my goal.
9. What was your biggest failure?
Not having the time to get together with my friend, Carol. Not a big failure in the scheme of things but it was the first time in 8 years that we haven't seen each other.
10. Did you suffer illness or injury?
I had strep back in November but other than that, no.
11. What was the best thing you bought?
Oh, lots of electronic stuff.
12. Whose behavior merited celebration?
The Cowboys. Jonathan Papelbon. My friend, Tasha.
13. Whose behaviour made you appalled and depressed?
The AMPTP. Michael Vick.
14. Where did most of your money go?
American Express
15. What did you get really, really, really excited about?
Going to Vegas and Portland for the first time. Seeing my aunt and my cousin for the first time in 5 years. The Cowboys' 13 wins. The Red Sox. Finally getting a load of stuff over to the thrift store.
16. What song/album will always remind you of 2007?
Carl Tanner, a tenor, singing "O Holy Night" at church on Christmas Eve. It was phenomenal.
17. Compared to this time last year, are you:
happier or sadder? Happier because last year I was stressing over Emma Kitty's declining health and what I knew was coming.
thinner or fatter? Happily, the same.
richer or poorer? Definitely richer.
18. What do you wish you’d done more of?
Gotten more involved in LJ and my f'list. Finished a couple of WIP's that have been WIP's for way too long.
19. What do you wish you’d done less of?
Procrastination and general laziness
20. How will you be spending/How did you spend Christmas?
With my dad, stepmother and a family friend.
21. Who did you spend the most time on the phone with?
Suzanne, Sharon, Dante.
22. Did you fall in love in 2007?
Unless you count the new furry guy, nope.

A good girl doesn't tell.

Book? Um, yeah, well...
27. What was your greatest musical discovery?
Tenor Carl Tanner. Again, he was amazing.

Recognition.

I Am Legend, Razor
31. What did you do on your birthday, and how old were you?
I turned 44 and I got a facial/mani/pedi at Elizabeth Arden.
32. What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying?
Going to Italy to see my friend, Jack. I worry about his health.
33. How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2007?
Business casual for the office. Comfortable for around the house.
34. What kept you sane?
Writing. It's my way to escape reality
35. Which celebrity/public figure did you fancy the most?
Paul Guilfoyle. Did and still do.
36. What political issue stirred you the most?
I don't know that I get stirred by political issues but I'll say illegal immigration because it's an issue here.
37. Who did you miss?
My aunt Juwan. She's still living but she's 85 and when I went back to Oklahoma last month for my great grandmother's funeral, she wasn't able to be there and I wasn't able to see her. I'm afraid I'll never get to see her again before she passes away.
38. Who was the best new person you met?
I only met them in the virtual sense but Rebecca and

39. Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned in 2007.
Change is inevitable. You don't have to like it but you have to accept it, otherwise, you'll never move forward. And if you aren't moving forward, you're not growing. And if you're not growing, you're dying.

I was able to be a good boss where I work (don't know why they'd want me in charge!?!)

Not getting back to school. I don't have to pay for anything except books, thank you Air Force and taxpayers!

happier or sadder? Sadder, still not able to get my dream job in the Air Force and have been trying for over 2 years now
