Goodbye and Good Luck
Nov. 15th, 2007 10:58 pmI really thought we'd only get about 20 seconds of Brass. I was very surprised. He was actually in the episode a lot! And he got to work with Sara, which, you know, since it was her VSE, was pretty good.
The look on Jim's face when he said he was going to notify the parents and Nick says "perks of the job"...poor Jim. Interesting how that comes up again with Sara.
In the spoilers for this, Sara was supposed to get into a row with Greg. Looks like they might have changed that to be Brass (wow, that's a first--actually giving to Brass instead of taking away) cause man, was she ever snotty to him about the warrant. Jim doesn't look too pleased when she brings up that part about having to talk to the parents.
Sara goes off on Jim about how if they'd done their job the first time, Kira would still be alive. Given that Jim wasn't even in that episode, um, he wasn't the one who effed it up.
Brass gave a shout-out to McLean, Virginia, w00t! Have to mention this because it's where I work. Unfortunately, it's where the victim, Kira, was from.
For all those fan fics where Brass calls Sara "Cookie"? I had to laugh because it's Warrick who calls her that. Btw, that's one of my fan fic pet peeves. "Doll" is the other one.
I like how when Brass is talking to a suspect (in this case Marlon), he's always looking around. I bet when he eats at a restaurant, he always has to have his back to the wall.
There's a great close-up of Brass when he and Sara are listening to the Hannah/Marlon convo. I swear PG has broken his nose at some point in his life. Given his hockey playing past, it wouldn't surprise me but it was kind of obvious in that close-up.
Sad that Sara left but saying goodbye in a letter? Ouch. I feel bad for Grissom. Then again, if you're girlfriend comes up and plants a tonsil sucker on you in the middle of the lab, wouldn't you follow her and find out why? Especially since you've made it a point to keep the relationship under wraps. I will say that Sara's note was very sad and I hope that Gil always loves her too. That's me saying no future Grissom relationships. Let someone else (Brass) play in that sandbox (Brass).
Oh, and someone needs to write a fic where Sara, Nick and Brass form a support group. Anyway, these three need to form a support group where they talk about all the crappy shit that's happened to them over their lives and since they came to Vegas. They could have a special bumper sticker and maybe a secret sign.

Not sad Sara left, but that sentiment is widely known, I do feel bad for Grissom Though. and didn't you just want to smack him for not following her, shows just how clueless he is to a woman's feelings.
They definitely left the door open for Jora to return.
Funny that Hannah noticed and commented in the difference in Sara and did the research on her, pushing all her buttons and was able to figure her out where he co-workers and lover couldn't/hadn't

Date: 2007-11-16 03:57 pm (UTC)I think it's unanimous about how Grissom responded to Sara throughout the ep, but especially after she lays one on him in front of Hodges. I mean WTF, really. Surely you'd trot after her and find out what was up. At least they left it somewhat open for JF to come back.
Brass was all over in this one. I loved him going at it with Sara and for some reason enjoyed that she was the aggressor. And when he was in the classroom with Hannah, you could tell he just didn't like her at all. I heart PG so much.
About the broken nose thing? Yes. I would be amazed to find out he hadn't had his nose broken.
Okay, Cookie?

When Warrick was in the locker room with Sara, he says she's a "tough cookie" or something like that. Only the tough part was said softly so all you could really hear was "Cookie" (or maybe I'm just going deaf, which is entirely possible). Anyway, I just thought it was funny because Warrick is the one who called her that while Brass never has--except in countless fics.
