Yay for lots of Brass!
I really liked last week's episode but I think I liked this one even more. Still no continuity regarding Jim getting shot (and I hoped getting shot at might elicit a line) but these last few episodes have given us lots of Brass and I can't argue with that.
Brass + shootout = luv It was odd seeing him drive a B&W but after seeing how much the car got shot up, it was a good thing. No Charger should suffer that kind of damage. And btw, can I digress for a moment and say my biggest, hugest pet peeve in fan fic is reading that Brass drives a Taurus. Brass has never, ever in and episode of CSI driven a Ford Taurus. It's only in the MAC books that he drives that car.
I have to point out something that only my Brass friends might have noticed because you know, we study everything Brass does. What? It's just me? Bah! Anyway, for those of you who haven't seen the eppy yet but are reading this anyway, watch for the oddness that is Brass' walk. I first noticed something when he was talking to Nick in the hallway of the house. I watched it again though and it didn't seem like anything. Then I noticed it when he was with Catherine in Xena's house. Okay, maybe it was just my imagination. But it was really obvious when he's called out to the desert to find ugly naked guy. He's walking very...stiffly...and he actually looks like he's in pain. Hurt back maybe? Nasty hockey hit? Could be. Anyway, it became really, really apparent in the interrogation scene with Clarrisa. Watch how he brings his left leg up twice, like he's stepping over something. Very odd.
Back to the episode: Yays for Brass working with Catherine! I always like how he stands so close to her so the part where he's standing over her right shoulder made me happy. The fact that he immediately knew Xena, warrior princess, made me laugh. And then Catherine with the sword: "Well, hello Xena." Oh, and I also liked that he was concerned about the kitty. I wouldn't be surprised if Brass had a cat--maybe a stray that he feeds on the back porch.
Another great Brass line: "Oh, 4,000. The new 50." When Shannon thought Brass was a lizard man, I really thought she was going to come after him at some point with a sword. I mean, Grissom was talking but the entire time, she was fixated on Jim. Creepy. And I nearly didn't recognize Ally Sheedy.
Best line of the night? "Yeah, I'm just a phone booth away from changing into my tights and saving the world." I love, love, love his expression after he says this. Oh, and yeah, I'd pay lots and lots of money to see PG in tights. People, the man plays hockey!
Second best line of the night? "You know, every time I think about leaving this job, someone like you comes along and reminds me why I can't."
Yup, a superhero's work is never done.

Date: 2007-05-04 04:40 am (UTC)I'm just about to start it up on the DVR. Sounds like an awesome Brass ep. Woot. It sounds like the stiff walk is totally obvious, so it'll be interesting to see.
And can I say I cannot wait for Brass!Cath? It's just been too slim pickens this season.
