Today is a good day.

I got mostly all caught up at work--thanks to my boss finally coming back to work, even if she's working from home all month--and I'm taking the Monday MLK holiday. Boo-yah!

For lunch it was Kubideh kabob from Moby Dick's. Don't even ask about the name but the food is amazing!

I went to Crate and Barrel after work and ordered my new chaise. It's being made specially just for me (well, the fabric part) so it won't be here for 8 - 10 weeks but I finally got off my butt and ordered the damn thing. Oh, and I had the nicest saleslady ever named Fran. She said I was the bestest and most nicest customer she's had in months. I thought for a moment she was going to hug me. Seriously though, if you're ever at the Crate and Barrel in Tyson's Corner, go see Fran and be cheery. You'll make her smile.

I got home tonight and found a box at the door. Uncle Eddie's Vegan Trail Mix Cookies!!! These are absolutely the best cookies ever and what makes them even better is that I met Uncle Eddie (he's just the name) and one of the guys who actually runs the company. They were volunteering at the Santa Barbara Animal Rescue (SBAR) pet adoption fair a few years ago, as was I, and they had the spot next to me under the shady tree. When we were wrapping up, they gave me my choice of bags of cookies. I couldn't decide between Trail Mix and Oatmeal Raisin so they gave me both. No lie, people, these are the best cookies ever! Even my dad, Mr "they can't be any good because their Vegan", likes them. That's a true testimonial. Oh, and I have to order the cookies because the only place I've found that carries them are Wild Oats grocery stores and there isn't one anywhere near Virginia. I order them online and they arrive a few days later--in a box.

Oh, and last bit of good day news? I got my idea for the Geekfiction Smutathon and now I can't wait to write it. Yay, team!

Organic wheat flour, organic evaporated cane juice, organic raisins, organic peanuts, organic oats, organic palm fruit oil, organic sunflower seeds, organic molasses, organic brown rice syrup, non-gmo soy lecithin, sea salt, baking soda and organic unsweetened cocoa. All this makes for a very chewy cookie (if they're crispy, they're old) with only 7g of sugar, 6g of fat.
