I've come to the conclusion that I got very spoiled by the end of S6 and the hope of what could be for Brass in S7 and because of that, my expectations were set very high so I continue to be disappointed by almost every episode so far (Toe Tags was an exception as was BTK1). Whew, that was a long sentence!

More Brass-related ramblings (and a few spoilers) under the cut

First of all, I have to admit that I was a huge Who fan in the mid 70's, after the album, "Who Are You" came out. And yes, I crushed on Roger Daltrey. So it was cool to see him in the episode, even if the plot was completely transparent (come on, did anyone NOT know he was Mickey Dunn?) and his accent slipped in at the end. Hey, the guy's a singer, not an actor. I did laugh out loud at Sofia's accent though. I don't usually but when she said "hair" instead of "here", I lost it.

Okay, now the Brass fun. He had a fair amount of screen time this time but what was up with the cops going to that guy's house without a detective? I mean, are we going to start adding them to the credits as well? Oh, and for those old enough to know that Mission: Impossible was an awesome TV show before it was a crapass movie, that guy's mother was Barbara Bain, who played Cinnamon Carter for a few years. She then she went on to star in Space 1999 with her then husband, Martin Landau. I'm used to seeing her with short hair so the long hair threw me at first.

Sorry, back to Brass. I think he had possibly the funniest bit all season when he "recreated" the witness statements. The sounds he made couldn't have been scripted.

I know it was probably me but Brass looked a little gimpy when he was walking with Grissom at one point. He has a very distinctive walk anyway but it just looked....odd. It's probably just me.

I love seeing Brass go into cop mode. Something about a man running around a restaurant in his LVPD windbreaker and his gun out just makes me go all tingly. And Brass smelling something bad was pretty good too.

Ooooh, Brass got to demonstrate his CPR skills. I just liked seeing a bit of leg (unfortunately, it was fully clothed) as he was kneeling on the floor.

There's a scene where Mickey Dunn says something about how getting shot makes you see things clearer. Of course I thought of Brass and wondered if that was the same way he felt. Then I thought how stupid I was to think that because the writers obviously don't give as much thought to how Brass was affected as I do.

OK so I watch CSI in HD. One thing I've noticed is how makeup doesn't hide anything. I mean, if there's a blemish or a wrinkle or a big glob of ear hair poking out, it's all there for you to see. And some of it--like seeing the folicles of hair actually go into George Ead's scalp--are not attractive. However, I can honestly say that PG looks good in HD. I love his upper lip. Yeah, yeah, I know that sounds weird but I love a 5 o'clock shadow and his is particularly heavy on his upper lip. Tres sexy!

I'd say that all in all, I did like this episode. It had some nice Brass moments and the story was kind of fun. I think I'm liking Douglas Petrie.
