tos_lover. Being on the East Coast I get to see episodes a full three hours before she does. I feel bad for her. Seriously, I do.
Yeah, I meant to do that cut text. It couldn't be helped.
I really don't like Greg. I've tried to like him but he mostly just annoys me. So, from the aspect of this being the Very Special Greggo episode, I was sort of meh about it. But that doesn't mean I didn't love it. It really was well done but it also makes me realize how much more they could have done with Brass getting shot last season. Given all the attention they are giving to the characters this season (and I'm loving that), I seriously believe he would have gotten a helluva lot more attention.
Okay, so things I loved. Yeah, it's still all about Brass
Best scene of the episode: guy standing at the desk in PD raging about wanting to see a cop. Brass and Sofia enter together and at the same time point to each other saying "he's a cop/she's a cop". They're so doing it.
So, Brass/Sofia aside, I loved the little scene where Brass takes something from Catherine. It was at the beginning and whatever it was, the way he took it from her was so familiar. They are so doing it.
Brass interviewing Tara was a hoot! He had that head bob thing going on but was it me or was he holding his left arm really strange. He looked...awkward. Also, I'm sure he was having Ellie flashbacks. Tara and Ellie could have been separated at birth. One more thing. When he was standing close to Tara, I kept thinking that if she reached out and punched him in the chest, he'd probably go down.
Who knew Brass was so great at alliteration. "It's funky in there. No Posh Spice or parties or purses or pedicures or pasta primavera".
Brass in the black Dodge Charger. Enuff said.
Brass without a jacket. In a white shirt. Looking all slim and trim. If only he'd lose the tie. And the shirt. Oh, and this means those promos of him with his sleeves rolled up and shades? That was all PG. Of course, having the bit of dialog in hand was a giveaway but still...
Brass with the first victim's little boys. The man is so cute around kids.
So, do you think Jim and Nick go to the same barber? I swear Jim's hair was even shorter on the sides than before and when he's talking to the kids, you can see skin. On the plus side, from the front, the sides look silver. HAWT!
All in all, I reallyl liked this but I have to say that I wasn't all that impressed with the make up job they gave Greg. Trust me, facial swelling is much, much, much worse than what he had.

Date: 2006-10-13 03:34 am (UTC)You already know that I don't like Greg. His smart alec remarks really bother me. So I wasn't too fired up about this episode but I will agree with you, it was pretty good. They were pretty harsh on Vegas. Nick made it sound like you shouldn't go there.
In Way to Go, Sara never showed up at the hospital until the end. All the others were there before the final scene, even Greg. I haven't forgiven her for that, yet. She was there for Greg pretty fast.
Why was it pitch dark when Greg was beaten, but it's daylight when Sara gets there and Greg is still lying on the pavement? Wasn't help suppose to be there in 5 minutes. Fast sunrise!
Favorite part....she's a cop/he's a cop.

This was a really good episode. I'm thinking the one where Greg gets put on trial will totally blow chunks.
Yep, I totally noticed the way he took that thing (phone?) from Cath. You could tell they weren't worried about letting their fingers touch, a huge sign of comfortness/intimacy. Although I do kinda wonder how many takes he took on the alliteration bit.
I loved the way he and Sofia came through the door together right before they did their thing.
And when he was standing interrogating Tara, I did a doubletake to make sure it wasn't his right side he was holding funkily. don't know what was going down there.
I love that the shades and rolled up sleeves were all PG but man was I pissed it wasn't on screen.
And the hair, can it get any more buzzed?
As for the Greg stuff. In some ways I'm like you, I totally noticed that in WtG that Sara was the only one who didn't show at the hozzy, but Greg was there and I loved him for it, specially as it kinda seemed he spent a while there. But yah, Greg so totally doesn't do it for me. Prepubescent...

Funny you mention the number of takes because I was wondering how many it took to get the timing down on that he's a cop/she's a cop bit. The more I see of Brass this season, the more I wish he was the star. PG totally owns the screen when he's on it. Hmm, maybe when Grissom leaves...
I'm glad you noticed the funky way he was standing in that interrogation scene. I seem to recall PG saying in an interview that Brass's recovery would run as part of the narrative. That makes me think he is adding in these little nuances and we aren't just imagining them.
In WtG, not only was Sara missing, so was Sofia. And that totally pissed me off. As for Greg, I don't know why but his scene in WtG really bugged me. I didn't get the impression he was there for Brass; it was more like Grissom told him to go stay at the hospital and he did.

Date: 2006-10-13 08:21 pm (UTC)He did appear quite stiff in the interrogation scene. And did you notice the way he sank into that chair. Practically dropped himself into it. All this wincing and stiffness makes me wonder if he's still on any pain medication.
