And there was much squeeing to be had...

Thursday was a most excellent day. First off, I was about halfway to work, listening to Elliot in the Morning as usual, when Elliot says that in 15 minutes they are going to be talking to Paul Guilfoyle. Well, call me a fangirl but I was squeeing all the way down the Toll Road.
I was really hoping Paul would be cool because Elliot can be brutal to guys who are rude (he hates, hates, hates, that one guy Goren, I think, from Law and Order--the guy was a total ass) or boring. Anyway, PG came on and he was just the coolest. Elliot loves hockey so immediately they start talking about Alex Ovechkin, this most excellent hockey player for the Caps. PG and Elliot talked a lot about him and about PG still plays in the charity games and how his favorite team has to be the Bruins because he's from Boston and all. PG did manage to segue into CSI by saying that one of the ex Bruins might make a better Jim Brass. Um, no.
They talked about Brass and Elliot asked the direct question: whether Brass would be back in S7. Of course PG tap danced around that. They talked more about the show and how last week ended with Brass lying in a pool of his own blood. Paul made it sound like it would be resolved tonight but I'm guessing that means we'll either know if he dies or makes it to the season 7 opener. Personally, just thinking about the possibility that he might die makes me a little queasy. Oh, and at the very end, Elliot said that if Brass did die, they'd catch up with Paul again on whatever his next project was. Paul said "okay, I'll call you from Italy". I know he usually goes to Italy around this time of the year but I wonder if that also means he's got something going on over the summer.
Elliot asked what Paul's connection to Alter Bridge was and Paul said that he had some friends who were doing the video and he liked Alter Bridge's music so they developed a character and put together a video. Paul said he just saw it recently and really liked how it turned out.
At one point early in the interview, you could tell Paul was doing something (he was at home in Manhattan, btw) so Eliot asked if he was smoking (that's what it sounded like). Paul sort of stammered a bit then said he was eating a muffin. The way he said it though, I think he was smoking. PG does love his cigars.
I absolutely love listening to Paul talk. He laughs a lot (I love his laugh--it's almost a giggle) and has a great sense of humor. Elliot can be a tough audience but he and Paul hit it off immediately. Oh, and when Paul isn't Brass, his accent really comes out strong. Actually, I noticed it coming out a lot at the end of Bang Bang.
Yes, I'm really into Brass so don't be surprised by my comments about "Way to Go"
The beginning. I love how it starts with Jim getting shot again but from a different angle. And then to see Warrick coming to his aid. I love how these two started out at odds but now it's Warrick who knows the most about Jim's past and Warrick who was right there when Jim was shot. I'll be honest, I've never much cared for Warrick because I thought he was an asshole in the first season but I'm really liking him now.
Shirtless Jim. ZOMG! can I just say I love his chest? Can I also say I was really excited when I heard about Brass getting shot because I knew there's be Brass skin? I do love me a man with a hairy chest and PG doesn't disappoint. It's just so lovely and hairy and yummy! I could go on but I'll spare you all.
Paul Guilfoyle's ink. We get a glimpse of what looks like a snowflake tattoo on his right shoulder.
inamberclad thinks that perhaps it is a snowflake after his daughter, Snowden. I have to agree. And yes, that's just another thing that makes me love this guy.
Brass flatlining. Of course now that I know he's alive, I can say this was a favorite. I loved the way his hand just sort of falls and he codes, the screen goes black and then all you hear are the paddles juicing up. Wow, three tries to bring him back but yeah, I guess technically Brass died.
Catherine's reaction to the body from the hospital. Her reaction when David said he just picked up a DB from the hospital was priceless and really drove home the fact that while everyone was going about their business, the concern for Jim really was on their mind. Cath's reaction though made my little shippy heart squee.
Warrick with Manny's sister. Everyone is getting down on Warrick for jumping on that woman but to me, he was reacting to what happened to Nick last year and to Brass. These were guys who were fighting for their lives while this idiot decided to toss in the towell. To me this was the stress getting to Warrick and I liked how it came out.
Sofia wanting to put the smackdown on Ellie. Love Sofia being all protective when it comes to Jim. She's so crushing on him.
Brass wakes up. Wow, that was a scary scene mainly because I had flashbacks to Grey's Anatomy and Denny. I knew Brass wasn't going to die. I mean, Paul Guilfoyle is the best actor on the show (sorry, WP fans but it's true). They'd be stupid to cut him loose especially with the possibility of WP leaving after next season. Still, when he coded it scared the bejeezuz out of me. Loved Catherine's anxiety and Ellie grabbing hold of Grissom's sleeve. Hell, even Grissom had a worried look on his face. Then Brass opens his eyes, sees Ellie and reaches out to her. Gawd, hand me another tissue. That did it. Why does this guy always make me cry?
Brass's fan club. This was such a touching scene. All the gang standing outside the window while Grissom there with Jim was so sweet. I loved Grissom's sigh of relief and the expression on his face after Jim gave his little wave. You could tell then that Gil really had been worried. Yes, seeing Brass being semi out of it during that whole scene was most excellent. My little h/c heart was squeeing then. Oh, and Catherine's reaction was so funny. She acted like her favorite celebrity had just given her a shout-out.
Not so much a big deal to me but I did like how they handled the ending. I liked that it was intimate but not sexual. I don't have anything against the ship but it would have taken away from the Brass SL if they'd been in bed or something. This was very well done. I'm so looking forward to S7 now but I hope TPTB don't forget what happened in 6x24. I want continuity, dammit!
Oh, and can I just say how freakin' pissed I am that Erica isn't going to cap "Way to Go" because of the GSR at the end. Apparently, she's a Grissom/Catherine shipper and the ending was too much for her. Sheesh.

Date: 2006-05-21 05:41 am (UTC)I have to agree, the writers better not forget what happened in both Bang-Bang and the season finale.
Ugh, no screencaps for Way to Go? Well, that pisses me off too.

Date: 2006-05-26 02:28 am (UTC)If you need Way to Go caps, I can grab whatever scenes you need. I just cap off the .avi, so they're 624x352 which isn't super high-res, but totally workable.
And there's nothing wrong with a Boston accent! (hides in shame)

Date: 2006-05-26 03:21 am (UTC)Is it wrong to admit that I was really jonesing to see caps of Brass' chest hair because well, I want to lick his chest hair? Okay, so I just want to sit and stare at it. And lick the monitor. I was hoping to get more caps of Paul's snowflake tattoo but apparently that's best seen on the Google video. It was barely visible in the actual episode.
*secretly wishes I had a Boston accent*
