I bought a new PC back in June and for the last two weeks I've been wiping the drives on a very old Gateway desktop that's not been used in a while (amazingly, the thing cranked right up and still works better than the newer old Dell laptop). Anyway, as I was looking at my old bookmarks on the desktop and found this.

It Came from the 1971 Sears Catalog

For those of us who remember 1971, this is a painful reminder of all the fashion don'ts of the 70's (it just got worse). For me personally, it's a reminder of the horrible polyester clothes my mother made me wear (I was 8 then). For those of you who weren't around then, feel free to harass your parents or grandparents about the walking suit fit for a pimp or the wear-dated pant suit in a baby spew shade of green. Btw, the comments under the pictures are almost as good as the pictures.

OMG! My PTSD from having survived the seventies is returning.

I actually remember looking at this particular catalog.

Whenever the brother gets snotty, I am unafraid to whip out my pictures of him in his leisure suit...

My brother also gets those threats of bringing to light certain pictures. I think I cleverly destroyed the ones of me and those flowery poly shirts.

Oh, Lordy, how I hated and still hate polyester. Most of our FWS uniforms are poly blends. Now that I have hot flashes just looking at the dress uniform shirt makes me sweat. There should be a law banning all polyester clothes in climates with an ave temp > 50 degrees F. Ugh!

OMG, I remember these clothes. In fact, I think I wore some of them. How embarrassing! Of course, what we wore at my school was mostly chucka boots and colored courdaroy Levi's bought from the men's department in those days. We girls thought we were being quite liberated, lol. Peasant tops were the in thing as well.
My Dad had this baby blue leisure suit that he thought was quite the thing. It did compliment his eyes but that's the best thing I can say about it.
So now the nightmares and flashbacks begin, lol.

Tubes, oh yeah. Right along with them were the mid-drift tops. I never wore them but I had a friend that did. We were at a football game and she slipped her jacket off and was sitting there in her tube top. One of the guys in the group said it perfectly. "Whao ****'s mid is drifting." All these years later I still chuckle whenever I see someone wearing tops like that.
