That was an awesome story. What a wonderful experience that had to have been. I would have been too much of a chicken to do that. My close friend spent a year in France studying and she tells stories like that. She didn't live with a family though. My best friend from high school is also fluent in German. She spent a summer there. She became a German teacher, who lives in Albuquerque, NM and teaches Math. Wrong part of the country to teach German. LOL. All my friends speak a foreign language and I don't. I took Latin in high school. Duh! Did you keep in touch with the Jakobi's?
