One of Those Random Posts

This blogging thing has made me very aware of how long it takes me to compose a post. My work emails are like this too. Actually, it's probably my work emails that have made me be more deliberate. I have to keep the "you are a complete idiot" tone out of what I type.
And along those lines, some of these posts may be locked so if you're lurking here, it's going to look like I missed a few posts.
I was going to blog about tonight's CSI episode but the Caps played tonight and hockey trumps Brass. If Brass was even in the episode. I'll go off on that tangent in a later post.
The Caps won. That's getting to be repetitive but I love saying it. They came from behind to beat the Rangers, extending their win streak to twelve games. Ovechkin got his 500th point and 38th goal (a beautiful one-handed shot past Lunqvist), Nick Backstrom had a 5 point game, and Jose Theodore was a beast in goal. The Caps are the #1 team in the Eastern Conference and have scored the most goals in the NHL. This team is on fire! I just hope they aren't peaking now. They are supposed to play the Penguins on Sunday. The game is on NBC at noon--if it doesn't get postponed because of the weather. I hate the Penguins and Sindey Crosby, especially after he whined to the refs after Ovie scored a hat trick during the playoffs last year. "Can't you have someone make an announcement to make them stop throwing hats". Douche.
So I've been watching Project Runway on Lifetime. On the regular, scratchy, non-HD channel. I just tonight found all these HD channels on another tier. And guess what's on there? Yup, Lifetime HD. Mila on PR reminds me of Christine Baransky in a dark wig. Also, do you ever find it startling to see someone in HD for the first time? Like woah, startling? I couldn't stop staring at Michael Kors, Nina Garcia and Heidi Klum.
When I was talking about cats the other day, I forgot to mention my half cat, Pudgy. She's the stray who hangs out in my back yard over the winter. It's obvious she used to belong to someone because she's been spayed and she's so, so sweet once she trusts you. She lets me pick her up and rub her tummy and scratch her ears. I've got a box that I covered in plastic to give her shelter. There's a flannel blanket inside to keep her warm and while the box is under the overhang of the house, I put an old umbrella over it to keep the snow and rain from blowing in. She stayed there during the December snow, although I did have to dig her out, she was snug and dry and warm. And well fed. When the weather gets warmer, she'll go back to sleeping in the bushes and hanging out by my neighbor's house but for now she's safe and warm.
I am ready for the snow. I have plenty of food for the kitties (even Pudgy), lots of snacks for hockey and football watching, and good stuff on the DVR to catch up on. I hope this second storm hits on Tuesday because I'm looking forward to not going back into the office until Wednesday at the earliest. I still have to work but it's much less painful to work from home.
