For the love of hockey...
Apr. 3rd, 2008 12:05 amSo yesterday morning I go into my boss's office and before I can even speak she says, "want to go to the Caps game?" I think I said yes! before she finished the sentence. The Caps aren't in the playoffs yet but if they're going to get in, they had to beat Carolina. Carolina was in first place by 2 points and a win for the Caps would put them in a tie. To say last night's game was huge is an understatement.
The game was sold out and all the fans were told to wear red because the home uniforms are red. I wasn't wearing red. So, the boss and I got to the Verizon Center about 10 minutes into the first period and immediately went to the Caps' store. I came out with a red Ovechkin jersey and in the process of paying, the Caps scored their first goal. Yay, Caps!
The company has seats at the Club level, right on the blue line and just as we got there (after we kicked out the three guys who were poaching), the Caps scored again. Another co-worker friend arrived and Carolina scored but in the end, the Caps won, 4-1. Carolina was never really in the game, even when they were a goal behind. The Verizon Center was insane. I've never heard the place that loud and the coach and players said they haven't either. However, the game tomorrow night against Tampa Bay will surpass last night's insanity if the Caps win. Boston lost in a shoot-out so they managed to get one point but the Flyers, the other team the Caps are chasing for a playoff spot, lost. That means if the Caps win tomorrow night, they will be one point ahead of Philly and in a tie with Carolina, Boston and Ottawa, who's on a downward slide right now. We had tickets to tomorrow night's game but we had to share with others in the organization. However, if something happens and no one has those tickets, I'm there. The energy in the Verizon Center was amazing and addictive. I want more of it.
Anyway, if I can't go to the game tomorrow, I'll be glued to the game on TV so that means after all this time of waiting for new Brass, I'm going to record CSI. It's for the love of hockey so I know PG would understand.

I guess I'll have to see if work is going to be a bitch and not let me watch it. I just need to tell all my aircraft to not call me for the next hour!

I am sure PG will understand. The game sounds fun.
I should probably watch more hockey.

Date: 2008-04-05 04:26 am (UTC)Looks like we were completely wrong about this week's episode being Grissom-centric. It's loaded with Brass. If you haven't seen it yet, I think you'll like it.
