I liked this--a lot more than I thought I would. But then there's a big reason for that...



Brass and Catherine. Lots and lots of Brass and Catherine. Lots and lots of Brass and Catherine shippy goodness. Honestly, I'd pay money to see Brass and Catherine have their own show. They are just so fun and cute together. I need to write more Brass/Catherine smut.

Brass - "That's the job that cops get after they retire"
Catherine - "You have something to look forward to, Jim"
Brass - "Yes, ma'am"

So freakin' cute! Brass would put up with Catherine's crap and Catherine can totally put Jim in his place. Oh, and yeah, Jim totally knows about Grissom and Sara and I think he was about to dish to Catherine when they found the DB.

Love how Brass is so righteous with regards to Heather and what she does. But at the end, he was so cool with her, telling her she needed to get some help. Maybe there's some hope for Eleanor Rigby after all.

My apologies to all you die-hard Grissom fans but I really wanted to slap the shit out of him for his smugness with Jim and Catherine. I felt so bad for Sara too. She should have gut-punched him. Btw, I have a few anger issues associated with work. I told my boss I wanted to do a team building exercise where we could punch things. Sense a theme here?

I love seeing PG outside. I don't know why it is but he just looks even yummier outside. And don't even get me started on how freakin' hot he is when he draws his weapon or when he walks so close to Catherine, their shoulders are almost touching or when he says he knows something...

Not that this will surprise you in the least but Brass totally steals the episode (check out all the Brass!love all over the boards) and he spends most of his time working with Catherine. Grissom is mostly a cat turd.

I posted over on the Brass site and to summarize, I loved the ep for Brass and Brass/Cath. I'm with wiccagirl24 with the "Jim" vs "Brass" stuff. Sara's always called and referred to him as Brass, but it seems to me that Cath and Grissom's using of Brass instead of Jim this season was much higher.
After this episode one would needs be blind to miss the Brass/Cath goodness, yes? They just oozed chemistry. He stands soooo close to her. I just love it.
But I'm lost as to why Brass was so harsh to LH when before he's been mildly amused by her. I don't buy it's because he's protective of Sara. His harshness emerged before he saw Griss at LH's place and he's a pro enough not to personalize it.
But oh, Brass/Cath, yay.

YTDAW = Your Tax Dollars at Work.

It imploded due to the CSI season finale but when it's up and running, it's a major GSR board and a good source for spoilers but they are generally very kind to Brass (I've found that GSR writers are very Brass-friendly--much more so than other pairing writers).

It was the first board I found when I first joined the CSI fandom so I met a lot of my f'list over there and the mods run the boards with a pretty heavy hand so that means the posts are generally intelligent and there's not a lot of the idiocy that's so prevalent over on CSI Files.

Thanks, of course!!! It was a long day yesterday!!! I loved that site until it went missing a few weeks ago, now I know its back up and running I will find out what's been happening and who has said what the last few weeks!!! Here in the UK we have only just seen " Unbearable " so a bit of catching up to do!!

They were soooo on fire tonight. How can people not see the ship between these two? That always bugs me when people write reviews and say things like "I can't see these two together."

Anyways, I really liked this episode and one of the good things about it is that you want to write more Brass/Cath smut.

Hee! I was watching with laura27md and we commented on how the Brass/Cath shippers were having a merry old time tonight! I was a little surprised at how harsh he was with LH, given his previous air of mild amusement, but maybe her skating out of a prison sentence ticked him off.

Yeah, I got the impression he was ticked off because she used favors with a judge to get out of jail. I mean, he's never approved of what she does but this time he was definitely harsh.

Do you see it? Do you? They just exude shippy vibes. This was right up there with Brass's Cancun comment from last season. Now that was a squee! moment to behold.

I think my dislike of Lady Heather totally comes from the fact that she should be hooking up with Jim, not Grissom.

Yes--in the past he might have disapproved of her business but he didn't take it as out of the ordinary. Come to think of it, he might have been annoyed by her refusal to cooperate with the investigation, too.

My reading of that was that he was feeling protective of Sara, worried that she would get hurt. I think he knows about her and Griss, and of anyone he is the most likely to know what exactly happened between Griss and Heather.

I have to go back and watch, but didn't Catherine used to call him Brass? She calls him Jim al the time now.

She (and Grissom) usually call him Brass when she's referring to him but when he's right there, she calls him Jim. I think she always has. I know she did back in S1.

WRT Catherine going on and on to Sara, as far as we know, Catherine has no idea about Grissom and Sara so when Sara asks the question about LH, Catherine is dishing gossip to a co-worker about the boss like any office worker might. Lord knows, we do it at my office. Yeah, Catherine went on and on about it but we know something she supposedly doesn't. Personally, I didn't see think it was any big deal.

I do think Brass does get judgmental with Heather about her profession but he's always has been like that with her--even before Grissom and Sar--so I don't know if that was the reason. I got the impression that his extra harshness was more about her skirting the law and maybe his being extra-sensitive to what she does because of Ellie.

Mmmm, Brass with his jacket off and his sleeves rolled up and his tie loosened... You know, back in S5, a bunch of us Brass fans complained about PG always in a tie and he stopped wearing them for a while. We need to start complaining again. Maybe in S8 he'll bring back the I-15 look.

Totally off topic, but I wanted to say that I just ordered the Best of the Avengers DVD, which has 2 eps each with Cathy, Emma, and Tara. The first Cath one is Mr. Teddy Bear, and I actually squeed out loud when I read it was included. Steed strips! Also, it has the chess board intro and the Tara King ep with John Cleese. I can't wait to get it!

His strip scene is kind of funny because it's the 60's but when I first saw it, my jaw dropped. We never got anything like that in the EP or TK episodes. I'll be curious to know what you think.

Have you seen any of the Tara King episodes yet--other than Forget Me Knot?
