My Writing Dilemma

Ever finish writing a fic and then have the dilemma of what to start next? Well, that's me.

I have a handful of WIPs that I really want to finish but I can't decide what to write next. So far I've been at the mercy of my muse--whatever it wants to write, I've been working on. However, my muse has been all over the place and unless I can concentrate on one fic, I'll never get anything done. The good thing is that I have endings written for at least two of the fics. One thing I realized a while back is that if I don't have the ending written, I'll never finish the fic. Strange, huh?

Anyway, why is this even important? Because inamberclad and I set a deadline of April 5th to finish a fic. And I hate to miss a deadline.

Yes, I am grateful for that. It usually takes me a while to get back into writing after I finish something so I'm glad it came back quickly this time.

Do you have a favorite? Or is one closer to being done than another? Those 2 things would influence my decision if all things are equal to the Muse.

I write well to deadline, but I don't particularly like the pressure. Whatever you choose, I can't wait to read.

Okay, I'm gonna take a minute and say that this is probably something I should do with my own fanfics. I've got loads of unfinished stories and I've no idea what to do with them.

I'm sure some would find it strange to write a fic ass-backwards but it gives me an idea of where I need to go. It's sort of like putting together the border of a jigsaw puzzle and then going back and filling in the center.

Unfortunately, all of them are favorites and all of them are a different pairing. I think that's part of the problem because sometimes I feel inspired to write Brass/Annie and other times it's Brass/Sofia or Brass/Catherine. However, since one of these is a sequel to a Brass/Annie fic that's a couple of years old, I think I've convinced myself to write that one first.
