Kathryn Joosten died and that makes me very sad. She was easily the best reason for watching Dssperate Housewives.
It's been about a year now that I quit drinking diet soda and eating/drinking anything with artificial sweeteners. The most notable difference is that the number of headaches I used to get has greatly decreased. I have to say, I don't miss soda at all. I became one of Teavana's best customers and now drink a whole lot of tea - mostly iced. If you're looking for something really yummy, I recommend the Youthberry Wild Orange Blossom tea blend. Or just the Wild Orange Blossom tea blend. Because I haven't given up caffeine, I add a couple of teaspoons of English Breakfast tea and then during the second steeping (when the water isn't so hot), I add in a couple of teaspoons of Emperors Clouds and Mist Green tea. My second favorite is Raspberry Riot Lemon Mate. The last time I was in, they sent me home with a little test pack of the Lemon Youkou herbal tea and it's not bad but I like my two. If you're looking for something different, check out their website, if there's not a Teavana near you. And no, I don't get reimbursed for this ad. But they really do have some great teas.
Started watching S1 of The Walking Dead. I now have zombies on the brain. S2 isn't out on DVD yet and that sucks but Breaking Bad S4 is out on Tuesday. Yay!
New neighbors moved into the townhouse next door a few days ago. Husband, wife and a 4 yr old son. They are Indian and very nice. The wife is a little wisp of a thing and her English is a little hard to understand but when I was out mowing the grass today, she asked if she could borrow the mower. I think it was her first time ever to mow the grass but she loved it! Did a pretty good job too. Later, she said she wanted to pull up some bushes in front of their house and asked if she could borrow a shovel. I sent her home with a shovel and a pick ax. Apparently, she was a beast with the pick ax because maybe 15 minutes later she brought both of them back with a huge smile. As a thank you she invited me over for lunch or dinner sometime. I think they are going to be very good neighbors. At least I hope so.
Sophie is standing in the doorway, meowing at me. Loudly. She knows it's time to watch a movie. Unfortunately, it's going to be hockey but I'll sit in our chair and she won't know the difference.
Poor Harry went to the vet this week for dental. He's had horrible teeth since he was a kitten. Seriously, they are rotten from the inside. This week he had three extracted and the vet said the roots on all his remaining teeth are basically disintegrating so eventually, he won't have any teeth at all. Co-worker friend at work said that instead of being Harry-Bear, he will be called Harry-Gummy-Bear. Too true.
I will end this on a happy note now (and then go watch TV with Sophie). After a hellishly stormy yesterday (a tornado went over the three-story building where my massage therapist is), today was absolutely perfect. We don't get many days like this in June.
