I have a very good friend who is a retired state police officer and I've heard the stories she tells. Pretty much the same thing that you've heard, I'm sure. She is definitely not a bad person either.
I'm sure Brass has seen more than his share of injustice in all his years as a cop so you know he's going to have those thoughts. To think cops (both real and fictional) don't think that way is just naive.
