The Last Week or So in Review
It snowed! Little bitty flakes from an Alberta Clipper so there wasn't any accumulation but it was so awesome to come out of a store and see it snow. Unfortunately, there was no fireplace smell as I was raking leaves in the cold this afternoon. That would have made it all perfect. I did however meet one of my neighbors. He's lived here for 4 years and it's the first time we've actually spoken. I think his name is Brook. Or Blake. Pretty sure it's Brook.
Was very displeased when I came home from work last night. One of the cats jumped onto the kitchen counter and knocked off this Bodum glass teapot that was up there. It was on top of a metal cooling rack and I'm sure cat took the rack and the teapot with him when he jumped down. There was glass all over the place. Took more forever to clean it up. I had to toss out all the cat food in case there were little slivers of glass in there and I had to check each cat for glass in their paws, then I took the rack around to each cat. Sophie looked at it, smelled it. Harry looked at it, smelled it. Tucker ran away from it. Hmmm, who do you think the guilty kitty is? Yeah, he was my first suspect.
Someone *I'm looking at you,

Every Christmas I have the pretend husband. I figured if I was married, I'd get gifts from my spouse but since I'm not married, I'd buy something for myself and say it was from him. He always gets me the best gifts--just what I wanted. This year he got me an inversion table. I used it tonight for the first time and IT'S AWESOME! It's a little freaky the first time you invert but after that, IT'S AWESOME! I have a friend who has had one of these for years and he raves about it. Now I see why.
Still have the itchy skin but it's 90% better than it was. I stopped at Whole Foods today for a good, organic moisturizer and the clerk recommended Dr. Hauschka's Rose Day Cream Light". I really, really like this stuff.
For those of you who watch Survivor, how great has this season been? Seriously, the last episode was almost as good as the Randy slam. I couldn't stand Corinne.
CSI was just ok this week. More Brass than I expected and the episode was good but not great. I don't know, I really wasn't that in to it--probably because I'm so looking forward to the next two episodes. I love that PG/Brass has gotten a couple of shout-outs in the reviews. I also can't wait to see LF on the show. I've liked him since "Boyz n the Hood" and I think I must have watched "Akeelah and the Bee" a half dozen times last week (if you haven't seen it, I highly recommend it). From the promos I've seen of him on the show, I think he's going to be a good fit. At least I hope so.
Did a lot of writing last weekend and I think I'm finally coming down the stretch on this Brass/Annie fic. I'd like to get it finished before the end of the year but if I'm being realistic about the amount of time I'll have to write, it's not gonna happen. The good news is that they are shutting down our accounting system on the 19th and once that's down, there's not a whole lot to do until after the first of the year. The bad news is that means everything has to be ready to go between now and the 19th.

I recommend a pretend hubby at Christmas for every single girl. You get great gifts!

Pretend Husbands are WAYYYYYY better at giving gifts than real husbands. I think this is BRILLIANT and you should find a way to market this idea. Seriously.
Maybe make licenses..."I have a license to shop. My pretend husband gave it to me." And for women with husbands who are lousy at shopping for their wives (mine is not lousy at it, fwiw, just doesn't have a perfect score) you could have a Certificate of Pretend Coma, where the husband is temporarily in a pretend coma and the wife HAS to purchase for herself. Yep, you need to find a way to market the concept.
Go you and your inversion table!

ROFLMFAO. Brilliant.

And I can't rave about this inversion table enough, especially if you suffer from back ache or tightness. It's just awesome! I already feel taller.
