Odds and Ends

So here are the random highlights of the last few days:

Had my interview for my position last Friday. I know I have a job it's just a question of whether I get to stay with my current manager, whom I love and adore (ok, so we've been friends for like 20 years). However, I'm also having lunch tomorrow with a former co-worker who has been pestering me for a while to come and work for his company (a non-profit). I figure it's worth a listen but there's not much he can offer to make me leave--unless I don't get slotted with my current manager. That might make me leave.

Got passport pictures made on Saturday. My passport expired last month and I hate not having a valid one handy. I mean, what if I need to jet to the Italian Riviera on a moment's notice? So, I had a plan to get my picture taken right after my hair appointment. It worked out nicely because the camera place was right around the corner. And the pictures were digital so I could make the guy take like six before I found one I liked.

Yesterday I finally hooked up the Wii I bought a few weeks ago. Then I played every game that came with it and today my arms are sore. That's good, right? I really like boxing and tennis but I've been informed by my cousin's husband that I must get Super Mario Kart. I think I also want to get Wii Fit yoga. Anyone have anything else to recommend?

I finally watched the ER Retrospective but still haven't watched the Finale. I started watching ER from day one. I've stuck with it over the years, tuning in every Thursday night even with the multiple cast changes (some good, some wicked bad). Watching the Retrospective made me very sad. I'm pretty sure the Finale will have the same effect. I hope when CSI ends, CBS will look back with the cast they way NBC did. Oh, and I think I might like the ER replacement, Southland. I caught most of the Pilot and liked what I saw. Actually gave me a new fic idea too.

I made the mistake of using Olay Definitely, the regular day moisturizer, yesterday and I now have contact dermatitis again. It's just in spots this time but apparently, my skin is still angry with me over the Clinque debacle. So, I have this brand new, still in the packaging, never been opened jar Olay Definity Intense Hydrating creme. It's the nighttime version and if anyone wants it let me know. It's yours. I'm sticking with Dr. Hauschka, Kiss My Face, and Aquaphor. They make my face very happy.

Do you know how hard it is to get the trash man to take a nasty, old trash can? Last week I put a note on it telling them to take the whole container. Trashman emptied the container and then put it back. Tried it again today by taping actual piece of paper telling him to dispose of the whole container--contents and all. He read the note, laughed at the note, emptied the trash can and then set it back down by my yard. It wasn't until I went outside and yelled down at him from the balcony to take the whole thing. He laughed, he read the note again, he laughed again, he showed it to his co-worker, they laughed together, and then he threw the nasty thing in the back. It was pretty funny. Btw, trashman is cute.

Sophie has her surgery this Thursday. I'm taking her in on Wednesday so she can stay there overnight and they can do the surgery in the morning. I hate not having her home and will miss her terribly but she chills pretty good at the vet and there won't be the stress of trying to catch her early in the morning. Plus, the boys won't freak out at not having food.

These last two things happened today and made this a very good day!

I paid off my car! It was only about three months early but still. It's paid for! Now I can go buy a new one. Except I won't. Well, not yet anyway. I do want a new Murano except I'm not very happy with their re-design so I'll hold out until they make a version I like.

I have tickets to game 1 and game 2 of the Caps-Rangers playoff series! My manager has season tickets so she automatically gets playoff tickets. She's got four and she's giving me one for the first two home games, possibly more depending on what happens. I love going to regular hockey games but the crowd and the energy for the playoff games is like crack. You just keep wanting to go and be part of it. The Verizon Center was one of the loudest arenas in the NHL during the regular season. I'm sure we'll blow the roof off the place during the playoffs. First game is Wednesday and I cannot wait!

Wow! Lots of stuff going on with you!

Let me know how the Wii yoga is. I don't have a Wii but if it made me exercise...

Good luck with the job stuff!

Lots of things going on with you! :D

I need a passport. Never had one before but one is needed to make the crossing into Mexico a lot smoother now. If I ever feel inclined to go to Mexico that is.

The Wii is fun. Got several games but they're my daughter's who is addicted to them. The pack included with it is quite fun. Wii Fit sounds all sorts of awesome too, however my room isn't quite a right place to use it if we ever get it.

I hope Sophie's surgery goes well.

*would like to jet to the ITalian Riviera.

Wii is AWESOME. Definitely get Mario Kart. Get fitness if you actually are going to use it.

I haven't watched the ER retrospective or finale yet. I have it on a DVD, just not yet able to watch it.

I hope Sophie is going to be okay. She'll be in my thoughts.

And congrats on paying off the car. Have fun with the baseball!
