CSI and Hockey Talk. What could be better?
Went to Game 1 and Game 2 of the Caps-Rangers quarterfinals. Caps lost. Caps won Game 3 in MSG, lost Game 4. Caps were down 3 games to 1. Teams down by two have only an 8% chance of coming back and winning the series. Caps won Game 5 and Game 6. The series was tied and Game 7 was in DC. After watching Game 6, I checked the links friends had sent me to buy tickets online and finding a seat at Club level, I made the spontaneous decision to go. Holy crap it was the best seat and the best game ever! When Sergei Federov scored the winning goal, the Verizon Center erupted. And for the final five minutes of the game, no one sat down, no one quit yelling. No one could hear. It was so freakin' loud. It was unbelievable.
So today I went online and ordered another ticket for Game 1. I'm two rows from the ice, to the side of the net. I'd like to be up higher but it was the only seat available and I'll get to see guys get slammed into the boards. Awesome!
And now some CSI talk.
I didn't have high expectations for a lot of Brass in this. Usually by this time in the season, they're having to double up and usually PG is the one who disappears. But this one surprised me. Sure he wasn't in it a whole lot but the scene where Jim's standing in the rain, wearing his yellow slicker over a black T-shirt and something that looks vaguely like a baseball cap, reprimanding Catherine for not calling him pretty much made the whole episode for me. Awwwww, he worries about her.
Oh, but that makes me wonder if everyone will now view Brass as Catherine's daddy-figure because you know, he showed that he cared about her and naturally that means he looks upon her as a daughter.
Note on Super!Dave: How cute is this guy? Messing up the recording during his solo autopsy and being all nervous and "snapping" at Riley was adorable.
Note on Greg: Dude needs to lift some weights. He has girl arms.
Note on Nick: Apparently he idolizes Brass's hairbuzz. I think Nick's is shorter.
Speaking of hair, thank goodness, PG's hair color is back to normal this episode. Oh, and the tie is loose again!
Brass with all the bad Van Gogh jokes and then his "who framed you, Roger Rabbit?". He was on a roll this episode.
I thought I recognized the actress playing Sue Schiff. She also played the mom in "Blood Lust". I have a WIP where I ship her with Brass.
They are in a piercing/tattoo parlor. Would have been a nice opportunity to mention Jim's tats. Any one else notice Jim's expression when the guy says he got his nipples pierced? Something tells me Jim's not into the nipple piercings.
All in all, this was a lot better than I thought it would be but I cannot WAIT for next week!

Note on Greg: He is an all around "Ew".
But back to Brass, I'm not sure how I felt about the yellow slicker, but the black T-shirt? Yes. And how cool is it that they're paying attention to the unbuttoned shirt?
This episode was okay, nothing really special, but Brass's bits were good. We'll see how the Brass/Catherine folks respond to the father figure stuff. She didn't seem to riled about him watching out for her, though.
And I can agree with him about the nipple ring. Husband got one a couple of years ago because he thought I'd like it. Man is nuts. It lasted about a month before I told him to remove it. He was relieved. And I got a replacement anniversary gift ;).

Over on YTDAW, they refer to Brass in the yellow slicker as Paddington!Brass. And it kind of fits. I really love the black T-shirt underneath. Anytime I get to see his neck, I'm excited.
We'll see how the Brass/Catherine folks respond to the father figure stuff.
I doubt they will say anything. I was being sarcastic towards all the Sara fans who are fixated on Brass as her father figure because he once said something about a freaking cough drop.

I thought Brass got some good screen time in. Even tho' it wasn't alot, he made it count. Loved the slicker scene and WOOT! loose tie!

Us Brass fans are used to quality over quantity but this season has given us a whole lot more quantity. I think this one didn't have a lot of Brass because they were doubling up on filming.
