We have an office in CO Springs so I've been out there a few times.
My sister and her family live in Highlands Ranch and since they have the lone grandchild, my parents bought a second home there as well. HR is maybe an hour north of CO Springs and about 30 minutes from Denver. I think if I ever moved out there, I'd live in Boulder. I really liked being that close to the mountains plus, it's about a 10 minute drive to Eldorado Canyon State Park, one of the top ten state parks you can't miss. If you're ever out that way, check it out!
Definitely had a great time! It was hot the first day or two but by the 4th it cooled down to the mid 80's and stayed that way until I left. Plus, up in the mountains it was about 20 degrees cooler. Are you being affected by the heatwave in the West or is that more to the east of you?
